s a child and teenager growing up in England, my mother was a keen home decorator. Every two years she would redecorate the house and this included replacing the wallpaper. Mum had a keen eye for beauty, colour and style and her choice of colours and patterns were far from bland. When we arrived in Australia, painted walls were the norm so wallpaper disappeared from our home.
