State's attorney recused herself from Jussie Smollett probe over interactions with actor's family, Chicago police

CHICAGO - Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx recused herself last week from the investigation into a reported attack on "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett "out of an abundance of caution" because she spoke to one of his relatives after it was reported and acted as a go-between with Chicago police, one of Foxx's aides told the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday.
