The ancient Greek poet Archilochus wrote, "The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog one great thing." The fable tells the story of a wily, hedgehog-stalking fox, repeatedly defeated by the hedgehog's prickly spines, which proved to be an impenetrable defense.
