UAW Goes On Strike Against General Motors

Picket lines began forming outside GM plants after the United Auto Workers voted on Sunday to begin a strike at midnight. Nearly 50,000 workers are affected by the work stoppage.

The United Auto Workers began a nationwide strike just before midnight on Sunday at General Motors after both sides failed to agree on a new contract over issues including wages, health care and profit-sharing.
