ON YOUR STARTER PLOT , GET SET, GROW!

The Ashbourne Road and District Allotments (ARDAA) is a forward-thinking allotment site made up of a great assortment of individuals.

In September 2018 the Potty Plotters (Radio Derby’s Elaine Crick and Julia Slater) and resident allotmenteers hosted a visit on site by Kevin Dodds, an associate construction director from G F Tomlinson, a local family-run construction firm. It was a year after the company had helped them create the Accessible Centenary Plot, a beautifully manicured plot and a previous ‘idea’ of the Potty Plotters.

“What are you going to do next?” Kevin naively asked, and was immediately escorted to an overgrown double allotment plot that had been neglected on the far end of the site for many years.
