Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Tourbillon

When the Fiftysix Self-Winding, Fiftysix Day-Date and Fiftysix Complete Calendar, all based on a watch brought out (you’ve guessed it) in 1956, were unveiled by Vacheron earlier this year, it was seen as a huge leap forward for a maker not exactly renowned for introducing new watch lines on a regular basis: not only were both red-gold and stainless steel cases being introduced for the first time, but many speculated that a younger clientele, engaged with vintage trends in both watches and fashion, were being courted.

Now, another stride forward has been made by the 264-year-old Genevan brand with the Fiftysix Tourbillon, which was launched at Abbey Road Studios, where the London-based artist, poet, vocalist and composer Benjamin Clementine — now a face of the house’s advertising — gave a private celebratory performance.
