PETULA STONE

With a background in graphic design, Petula Stone first made the move into art as an illustrator, after graduating from Leicester Polytechnic (now De Montfort University) in 1976. Petula soon received a host of commissions, starting with children’s books before moving into packaging design and illustration.

Today Petula lives in rural Suffolk in a 19th-century cottage and works in a garden studio. As such, plants and flowers are a recurring theme in her work. Throughout her career, she has worked for many high-profile clients including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and the National Trust. A favourite commission involved creating a series of botanical illustrations
