Over the last year or so, some of the big names in tech, including Google, Sony and Qualcomm, have been redesigning mobile sound to improve the output quality of short-range wireless audio. But what about capturing high-quality analog audio? With often little more than a basic built-in microphone for voice-grade sound, many Android devices are far better at pumping out near-CD-quality audio than they are at capturing it. However, in many cases with the right combination of software and hardware, you can fix this imbalance and turn your Android device into an excellent multi-channel digital audio recorder, good enough to record music, podcasts and more.
