IMAGE DOCTOR
THIS MONTH’S WINNER
GREAT DYNAMIC TENSION
According to Marj Webber: “I have discovered vertical panning and just love the effect. It reminds me a bit of impressionist paintings and I would like them framed on my wall. I find them very calming. Melaleuca Forest was taken in the Bribie Island Heathlands and was one of my first attempts.”
There is not much to suggest about this lovely image. There is good interest, colour and contrast, and a dynamic tension with all those vertical lines filling the horizontal format. I also like the fact that it is not completely abstract and has an almost layering effect with the colour. Your subject matter was ideal for a technique that can be very hit-and-miss.
SAIMA’S TIP: When you have got the hang of a great technique, go for it and try it out in as many varied scenes as possible.
