Younger people are drinking less alcohol than ever before. Recently a few pubs opened in Britain that look like pubs, feel like pubs and smell like pubs – but serve only non-alcoholic drinks or, at least, drinks that contain less than 0,5 percent alcohol. No-alcohol or low-alcohol drinks is one of the biggest trends in the beverage business. And SA is right up there, with the low-alcohol drink sector growing by the week. Look, to be honest, on these pages we like a bit of alcohol with our drinks, so we’re certainly biased in that direction. But we can also see the advantages of the new austerity: it’s healthier, contains far fewer kilojoules
