THE SHOW MUST GOON

THE NEW CREEPSHOW came about in the best way possible: by a combination of luck, coincidence, and being in the “right place at the right time”. Series executive producer Greg Nicotero, the special effects guru-cum-producer of The Walking Dead, was returning to the States after a press sojourn to Australia to promote the zombie show. Looking for something to read on the plane, he downloaded Nights Of The Living Dead, a collection of stories set during the 48 hours of the zombie outbreak in Night Of The Living Dead, and fell in love with a story written by Craig Engler.

“I thought, ‘I want to shoot that,’” he tells in a late-night interview on one of the final shoot days of . “Just as a short, just for fun. It must be good if it’s a zombie story that I want to shoot!” Engler, it turns out, is an executive for Shudder, which is owned by AMC Networks.. “I said, ‘? My ?’” They offered him the job of creative executive right there.
