KAYA SCODELARIO

People ask, ‘Do you play strong female characters to inspire little girls?’” says Kaya Scodelario. “And I’m like, ‘Yeah, but also to inspire little boys.’ I want my son to grow up and see Wonder Woman and Sarah Connor and Haley in Crawl, knowing that their stories are just as interesting.”

First seen as shadowy teen runaway Effy Stonem in , Scodelario specialises in playing women with the survival gene, from Teresa in the trilogy to Carina Smyth in the saga. You sense the she’s the ultimate survivor, fighting for her life in a flooded house besieged by alligators.
