TURN YOUR WORLD UP SIDE DOWN

HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS at Universal Studios Park in Orlando is the world’s biggest Halloween event. SFX asked Creative Development Show Director Patrick Braillard about how they bring the world of Stranger Things to life ahead of a brand-new haunted house for HHN29.

So how long does it take to make the world of Stranger Things real? “If you take from the beginning of concept through to the completion of the scenic documents, that’s about a five-and-a-half or six-week process,” says Braillard. “And then with the building and the programming, that’s about another six weeks. So we have to start incredibly early with all of our houses. Every single one of our houses for this year’s event are in one state or another of progress. In fact, we finished technical reviews for our first three mazes on Friday 12 July – they’re completely wrapped up and ready to go for guests.”

“Netflix were so gracious
