We live in technological times. Communication has never been faster or reached further. With the click of a button we can access vast swathes of knowledge. A simple email can put us in touch with people on the other side of the globe. But some things are still done best in real time, with real people and out in the real world. Nowhere is this more important than out in the shooting field.

It is also a time when shooting sports and rural life are under political pressure as never before, with land and wildlife management under increasingly relentless scrutiny. From attacks on grouse moor management to the chaos and confusion of the general licences, these are challenging days for all who live, work and enjoy the British countryside.
