PLOT: The iconic ’90s video game character gets a very modern makeover! Sonic and his new bestie – a human named Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) – join forces to try to stop the villainous Dr Robotnik (a brilliantly camp Jim Carrey), who wants to harness the speedy hedgehog’s superpowers and use them for world domination. Eek – run, Sonic, run!
WHAT’S HOT: The soundtrack is giving us major flashbacks to being at Sega World circa ’98!
WHAT’S NOT: The movie’s first trailer sparked criticism because of Sonic’s human-like features. He’s since been redesigned, but it’s still left a bad taste in some fans’ mouths.
