“I try to capture the image of what I feel as a woman through my artwork. Sometimes the figures are alone, or merely shadows, but it isn’t about loneliness or hiding—it’s about strength, independence, and simplicity. It’s about the curiosity and power we have when we are alone with our thoughts. I typically dress my figures in very feminine gowns that highlight a woman’s delicate beauty. [This image is of Lady Gaga at the MET Gala this year.] Like a ballerina, she can appear fragile, but, in fact, she is incredibly strong in mind and body.”
