Cloning hard drive query

I’m in the process of replacing my hard drive with a faster SSD model. I’ve created a disk image of the OS partition and copied it to the SSD, but how do I make it bootable?

The best way to clone a hard drive to an SSD is using a program called Macrium Reflect Free (www.macrium.com/reflectfree), which enables you to copy across the required boot partitions along with the main Windows partition. Basically you should choose the ‘Clone this disk’ option and select System Reserved, your Windows partition and – if they exist – any small hidden partitions at the end of the drive. From here you’ll be able to clone those partitions across to the new SSD.
