Raymond Ghajar

Minister of Energy and Water

Throughout his 30 year career the new minister was active in academia and business. He has worked in several companies in the energy sector in Canada, the United States, Jordan, and Lebanon. Prior to his new appointment, Ghajar was Senior Energy Advisor to the Ministry of Energy and Water, a job he has held since 2007. He is also a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Lebanese American University (LAU). His academic work includes research in economics of renewable energy and energy systems. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering in the field of power systems reliability from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada.
