Q Impact on the Supply Chain? If sourcing from China, when is the supply chain likely to be restored?
A The unprecedented pandemic situation has given rise to several challenges and uncertainties. The supply chain has been deeply impacted with the lockdown being imposed first in China followed by India. As we see now, on China side things have almost normalised and they are ready to ship goods.
Q Do you have adequate inventory in stock which can be sold once lockdown is relaxed in India? If yes then for how long? How many weeks / months?
A As a new brand, we always have ambitious growth plans and maintain optimal inventory to spur our growth. With the Chinese New Year Holidays preceding the lockdown in China, we did have limitations in sourcing required quantities. However, with improved situation in China, our supply partners are ready to dispatch our orders once business resumes here in India. Of course, market sentiments, shifts in Indian consumer attitudes, etc will all play a huge role to decipher the time taken to clear rolling inventories.
Q What new products or changes are you planning for the coming months? Do you see consumer behaviour changing temporarily?
A It is an interesting time to be in business. We’re in a transition that will have both positive and negative impacts. How consumer behaviour pans out, post the lockdown is a matter of speculation. Although, the skewed preference for online purchases and essentials won’t be surprising. At FINGERS, we have always been about introducing an intriguing mix of high utility and trend-setting gadgets to Indian consumers. We have several exciting launches in the pipeline that will focus on three abilities – affordability, availability and sustainability.
Q Has your organisation contributed / helped directly or indirectly with the disaster relief or Government or NGO efforts? If you have a CSR budget - How are you planning on using the same this year, due to the virus?
A Yes, we have done our bit and will continue to do so as one of our founding philosophies at Dynamic Conglomerate has always been to take care of our various stakeholders and the environment we operate in.
Q Are you looking at increasing levels of localisation?
A We’d love to be able to manufacture our goods in India and we are positive that the Make in India initiate will open up several avenues for us to consider this shortly.
Q Will this pandemic have an impact on the pricing of your products in the near future?
A We do foresee the possibility of increased prices in the market, with costs of raw materials and other ancillaries shooting up already. There is also the concern of INR vs USD performance that has to be taken into consideration. That being said, it will be our constant endeavour to keep any price increase to the minimum.
Q What is the impact you foresee on the topline and bottomline growth?
A Approximately 20-30% for the year.
Q Any revision in growth estimates given the revised FY targets?
A Definitely, a call on revised targets will be taken considering all factors.
Q Do you see organisations using increasing levels of Work from Home concept and the impact if any on business?
A The lockdown situation demands a ‘Work from Home’ situation. However, we being a brand and marketing organisation, with our sales team forming the major pillar of our work force and offline distribution, work from home does not fit in our case beyond a certain level.
