WHAT EXACTLY DOES ‘OLED’ MEAN?

While OLED TVs can’t get as cheap as LCD TVs can, they have a good excuse. Namely that each and every pixel in an OLED screen produces its own light and colour. LCD TVs, on the other hand, share external lights across many hundreds or thousands of pixels at once.

OLED TVs can therefore deliver peerless local contrast – as in, the darkest pixel in a picture
