As my new puppy scampered over for a cuddle, my stomach flipped. ‘I don’t know what it is,’ I told my husband Robert, 30.

‘But I just cannot stand the smell of her.’

She was the loveliest addition to our household, but every time I went near her, I felt nauseous.
