In a world post-coronavirus, we have all promised to be kinder to ourselves – and this includes being less judgemental about any perceived bodily faults. But what if your body has been on a tougher journey than most, and you have had learn to love a new body that you feel doesn’t look like yours any more?

For one in seven women diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime (one woman was told the news every 10 minutes in the UK in 2019*), they face a drastic acclimatisation to their new reflection in the bedroom mirror. Battling body confidence following breast cancer surgery is a challenge that can be tougher during the summer months, when we want to wear swimwear and strappy tops.
