Lightroom query

Thank you for your interesting and informative article on organising photos in Lightroom. I could definitely do with improving my organisation and your article has spurred me into action! However I wonder if you can clear up something for me?

You recommend applying some general keyword(s) at the point of importing photos into the catalogue and then using collections to organise and sort them into groups. So, for example there could be two collections, ‘Birds’ and ‘Summer Holiday’ where a photo could appear in one or both of the collections,
