Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro

Five years ago, the Chinese lens maker Venus Optics and its Laowa brand were barely known in the UK. But this restlessly innovative company now offers an impressive range of manual-focus optics. One of its main areas of expertise is macro photography, and while other makers are content with 1:1 magnification, it’s gone a step further in building lenses that give twice life-size reproduction, while still focusing to infinity.
