Alice Etro is eager to tell us how, today, her friend rescued a dachshund to keep her company during the lockdown. “It’s such a good idea. If I didn’t already have three animals, I would take another, but my boyfriend said, ‘Not any more’. With the five of us here, it’s almost crowded,” she laughs.

For now, the creative director for Westwing, a smart online furnishing store, is working from home. “We’re doing this remotely, without any problems. If I couldn’t work it would be terrible for me, because how can you pass your day?”.

While she’s missing the company’s upscale offices, which are a short walk from her home in the Corso Como district of Italy’s industrial capital, she is grateful to live in such a beautiful flat.
