Living with the seasons

Which is your favourite season? Is it spring, with its first warm sun rays of the year, fresh breezes and clouds of blossom that bedeck the trees; or summer, with its long, drawn-out days that present an opportunity for beach trips and sea swimming? Perhaps you yearn for autumn, for forest walks through golden trees followed by steaming mugs of hot chocolate; or you crave the cosy rest time that winter allows, and the chance of an exciting snowfall.

There’s no doubt that the month of May is a firm favourite for many of us. Flora flourishes, our wildlife becomes more active and easier to spot. Delicious new produce arrives at local farmer’s markets, and we can start creating warm salads full of bright colours and flavours – deep bowls full of fresh broad beans, earthy Jersey Royals
