Even during these perilous times navigating the Covid-19 pandemic, women are still leading from the front. Whether as part of the predominantly female nurses in the country working directly at the coalface of the disease, or as counsellors and supportive figures prioritising the mental and emotional stability of others, women healthcare workers have stepped up to the many challenging tasks presented by the pandemic.

This week, as part of highlighting the role women have played in combatting Covid-19, City Press spoke to those playing different roles in the national response to the virus.
