FROM THE EDITOR

Do you hear that? It’s the collective sigh of everyone realizing 2020 is over and we’ve come out on the other side. That’s not to say we made it out unscathed, or that 2021 is guaranteed to be easy, but it does feel like a poetic new beginning.

We kick off this new year with our annual Music in the City issue—a tribute to some of. It’s a telling title for an artist who ran into some troubles last year, but as you’ll see in our interview, he’s on track and focused on being the best man and musician he can be. It’s easy to think we know what a celebrity is like without ever meeting them, and I admit that was how I felt about Morgan before our chat. I thought he might be short in his answers to my questions or maybe a little glib about his “dangerous” ways. Instead, I met a warm, charming, thoughtful, and introspective artist who was as generous with a laugh as he was with a childhood story. I hope all of that shines through in this interview.
