About this audiobook

In the first novel in the Breathless trilogy, a man is about to have his fantasies come true with a woman who was once forbidden fruit, and is now ripe for the picking...

When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.

Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once. So what if he’s fourteen years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires.

As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed—and vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

It's very 40 Shades of Grey-esque but without all the kink shaming. I enjoyed it!

As different then I thought it would be but all in all a great story. Some bits were dragging but the last half caught me off guard. I'd read it again

One-dimensional characters stuck in a so-so plot with damn well excessive use of the word damn. The erotica archetypes of powerful, handsome man brought to his knees by a non-descript, unaccomplished 20-something is starting to bore! How about two equally powerful and accomplished characters? Could be damn sure hot.

I did not like the setup of this book. The heroine is quite young and the hero is much older, which I didn't like. Furthermore, she comes across as even younger than she is, childish almost, and the hero is very controlling, which I liked even less. I started to dislike him more and more, so after about one third in it became a DNF. I truly can't find anything positive about this book.

Loved this story, could not put it down! I liked that their story was over in one book, and nothing dragged on too long. There was a good flow. I loved Mia. So many times the women in these story's are more exhausting than the controlling men they're with. Sometimes those women work with the man in the story and grow, and they don't come across too whiny, irritating and insecure. Sometimes they do though! Mia knew who she was, knew what she wanted. She submitted herself willingly to Gabe, but was trusting, honest with him and stood up for herself when she needed to. I loved Gabe, he had a damaged heart, only Mia could heal and was a coward a couple of times.Really enjoyed this.

I came across this review on my shelves when I updated my library. It was marked as a DNF, but I actually read it.

I know that a lot of people love this author and this series, it's on a bunch of lists, however it didn't sit well with me.

Gabe is the Hero and he is a businessman with bank. He is one of three brothers, and his object of desire is Mia who is the little sister to of his best friend.

After he secures Mia in his grasp, he gives her the BDSM contract and gets her to sign on the dotted line. Although Mia is excited and scared, she trusts that this man is going to treat her right. Yes, a woman can be treated right even while being spanked to and tied up.

However, Gabe asks Mia to go above and beyond what would be expected of her at such a recent introduction to the scene. I am referring to a specific scene where she was expected to strip naked and serve as a table or a platter or some kind of inanimate object to hold and serve food for a bunch of unknown businessmen. That pissed me off. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a table or a platter for BDSM fun. What is wrong was how he manipulated this young woman who otherwise has no experience in the scene whatsoever into being groped and watched by strangers while her "loving" boyfriend is there conducting business. Also, she had no idea she was going to be doing this. It was just sprung on her and was followed up with some kind of male manipulation to get it going. I don't remember if she liked it or not, but that isn't the point. The point is you do not get your new submissive who has never done anything kinky in the past to strip and become a platter for food for strange businessmen without even asking first. Actually, he shouldn't have even asked. This is a no-brainer. He supposedly loves her and is worried about her brother finding out they are together. How does he expect her older brother to react when he finds out he had her naked and groped during a business lunch?

Seriously? That is just one of the many reasons why I wanted to stab Gabe with at fork.

And that is one of the many reasons why I marked this as a DNF even though I read it, because that is the response I had after reading it.

Book 1 in the trilogy follows Gabe Hamilton the oldest of three best friends and business partners/hoteliers. They've got a hot new hotel opening and when Mia Crestwell walks into the opening gala, in a dress like that, Gabe can't help himself. He's waited a long time for his best friends little sister not to be so little anymore. Mia has always had a thing for Gabe and now, he's paying attention to her. Their relationship starts off a secret from her brother and Gabe's business partner, Jace. But it doesn't take long before they're exposed and potentially betrayed.Dominant male protagonist, age gap contemporary romance set in fancy hotels. Gabe likes control and Mia wants him to control her. 3/5 on the spice scale. Not bad.

A quick and interesting read. Not to be read on the bus or in public for me as I couldn't help but squirm occasionally. Not sure the content is actually all that acceptable to me personally in a lot of ways and I would struggle to recommend. I will try the next book more out of fascination than like...

This book is way too similar to the other books on the market featuring an overbearing billionaire set on controlling his lady. I'm done with this genre. I much prefered Ms. Banks' Sweet Series to this one.

I couldn't finish it, stopped almost half way.

The idea is nice but somehow the whole story doesn't seem well thought through and unimaginative. I'm still reading (finished chapter 13) but since about 3 chapters I keep asking myself: why am I reading this?!Guy wants best friends baby sister since years and all of a sudden decides it's time to make her his sub (oookay..... never mind). He offers to hire her as his PA so she is always around him but actually she's just supposed to be his play thing. Neither wants to tell the brother the truth behind the job or that they want each other.Okay maybe it's just me but somehow this whole setup seems lame to me! Somewhere in chapter 13 Mia all of a sudden seems to realise, that Gabe is paying her to have sex with him in any fashion he likes. (Hmmm Mia shouldn't you have realised that when he gave you the contract?!).Right now I'm not sure if I'll continue. Somehow too many things remind me of other books (Fifty Shades of Gray especially), the dialogues between other characters seem artificial and the main characters seem to be missing depth. Will write if I continue.I finished the book. It was all very predictable, but I did laugh at some parts. If your bored and need something to read, borrow it but don't buy the book. It's not worth it IMO.

A well done erotic romance with some BDSM. I liked the pace with which the relationship developed including realistic human emotions such as trust, insecurity, atonement and forgiveness. Gabe and Mia have been attracted to each other for years and finally Gabe acts on that attraction.

This is the first book in the Breathless series. The series is about the three men that have been friends for years and are in business together. Gabe Hamilton, Jason Crestwell and Ash McIntrye are all very wealthy and they are used to getting what they want. What Gabe has wanted for years is Jason’s sister Mia. Mia is finally old enough to make the decision that Gabe wants her to make. What starts off as an affair with a time limit or at least that is what Gabe thinks. Gabe has been burned by his ex-wife and he hasn't committed to a relationship without a contract spelling out just what he expects of his women. Mia has had fantasies for years about Gabe. Mia doesn't care about the age difference between the two of them. She just wants a chance to be with Gabe.Gabe is a dominant and he wants to make sure that Mia understands that. I think it is funny that he thinks that he can keep an emotional distance between himself and Mia. It isn't long before Gabe realizes that he isn't going to be able to keep from falling for Mia. He does do some things that aren't very good but he fixes those mistakes and show Mia how bondage can be erotic and exciting. Gabe’s confidence is a little of the shaking side. His ex-wife really did a job on him. I liked Gabe a lot I guess that is because he isn't infallible. He makes mistakes and he owns up to them. I love the way that he proposes to Mia. It was sweet and loving and romantic.Mia is wondering through life trying to find her place. She is happy with what she is doing and where she lives. When Gabe approaches her to she jumps at the chance to live out her fantasies. Mia is a submissive but she is also a confident young woman that is intelligent, caring and full of life. She isn't afraid to experiment with sex. What Gabe wants makes her hot and squirmy. It was very sad when Jason found out about the two of them. The whole incidence could have easily been avoided with just a little trust and honesty with everyone. There is some spanking and bondage in this story but it isn't over done or too much. The sex is steaming hot and is spread throughout the book. Ms. Banks writes some of the best romance in the industry. Her stories are always full emotion and wonderful characters. This story is no exception. I highly recommend this book to all those that like a little bondage with their romance.

While it took me a while to warm up to both Gabe and Mia, eventually I did. They're both straight forward and honest with eachother about their wants and needs and Mia seems to have a strength that heronines in these types of stories usually lack. A good read and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

This book was as cheesy as it was completely messed up. This made me laugh, but it was not the author's intention. Each page was so ridiculous because the characters were so serious and earnest, despite how silly and asinine their situations were. Hopefully, the next two books are just as laughable.

Rush is an erotica romance that closely mimics Fifty Shades, but slightly dirtier with a lot less plot. Erotica is not my usual genre of choice, but since I had seen it advertised quite a bit I thought I'd give it a chance. The story line had no premise other than, "we can't let big brother find out about us". It was all about forbidden fruit and kinkiness. I understand the book is erotica, but the multiple sex scenes were so long that I finally had to skim passed them. I guess that's why each book in the trilogy has a new woman for the trio of best friends to devour.

I was excited to read this one, but it didn't live up to my expectations. I didn't connect with the characters, and there were sections of dialogue that just didn't ring true to me.

First in the Breathless series. Mia Crestwell is the little sister of Jace, who along with his friends Ash and Gabe are the wealthiest, most powerful men in the country. Mia's had a long-time crush on 38-year-old Gabe who is fourteen years her senior, since her teenage years, little knowing that Gabe feels the same way. When she walks into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, Gabe finally makes his move. But will Mia partner him on his terms once she knows what they are? Will she sign his contract giving him domination over her body at all times? Can she handle his obsessive S&M demands? And what will Jace do when he finds out?I found Gabe a bit of a creep actually, a self-obsessed classic dominating billionaire, and the book a bit disappointing really. Will read the next in the series though - Jace and Ash seem more interesting characters.

BDSM novels, like this one, are tired. No romance, just kink and submission. In Rush, neither character is well developed. Gabe is brutish and cowardly. He doesn't become likeable even in his attempts to 11-th hour win back Mia. Borrow, or pass on this one.
