      The books keep getting better. As the story moves forward the female leads get better. With twist and turns the book keeps you glued in.

      Fury of Ice is the second book in the dragonfury series by Coreeen Callahan. I was able to obtain this through Audible, and since I have a love for audiobooks, I knew I had to get this through an audiobook. I do love a steamy shifter romance, but when you put dragons in the mix, the heat level on rises...mmm deliciousness in one book, who can resist??? Fury of Ice is Rikar's story, we continue on from the last book, where Angela ends up being kidnapped by dragons with a evil agenda. Angela is a police officer, and is tough as nails, but being forced to feed the Razorback, Lothaire.. Angela's strength is almost depleted, when a chance to escape opens up and she barely escapes with the help of Rikar coming to her rescue. Rikar and Angela are mates, and Angela is suffered from a form of PTSD, and Rikar is her anchor. With danger surrounding them, will Angela and Rikar be able to form the mating bond without losing one another to the enemy?Fury of Ice is a fantastic shifter romance, and I do love dragons. They are so passionate and fierce, and I totally take it in for all its worth. After reading the first one, I have been waiting to read Rikar and Angela's story. Even though I am not huge on the battle ready heroines, I really admired Angela, she was a very endearing characters, that instantly pulled at my heartstrings. From the beginning of the story you see how much that she has suffered at the hands of Lothaire, and I admire her courage and stubbornness to survive, she never gives up. Rikar is not going to give up on Angela, no matter what. Rikar is quite a swoon worthy hero, I would trade places with Angela any time. Rikar is a warrior, second in command, and definitely has the Alpha Male routine going on, but there are times where you love the way he is with Angela. He gives her room to breathe and make decisions for herself and tries not to push her too hard. I enjoyed seeing these two together, and what chemistry!! I thought my room would turn into flames, with that these two characters were dishing out. We do see a sub plot, with Angela's partner who ends up being a fledgling water dragon (way cool right?), and the circumstances of his future mate which was a good start for the next book which is their story.A suspenseful plot, that is packed with action, sexy dragon shifters, tender romance and a story to bring a tear or two to your eyes, and barks of laughter at other times. A story full of everything that makes a paranormal romance, Brilliantly well done...worth every penny!! Fully recommended.

      Welcome to back to Washington State. If you read the first installment, Fury of Fire, then you are already familiar with the characters; if not you really should check it out. This book picks up immediately following Fury of Fire. This review contains spoliers for Fury of Fire. I don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t read it yet, but WoW~~~~. This is a primal example of a paranormal romance.Coreene Callahan has created a group of characters and fine-tuned their individual personalities so well that you experience their emotions as your own. The struggles, the heartbreak, everything is so very well written that each event drags you fully into the experience. I read this entire book in a single day; couldn’t put it down. I am glad the next installment, Fury of Seduction, is coming soon.Rikar is the last of his kind; a frost dragon shifter, an all-male race born of human females. As 2nd in command of the Nightfury dragon clan it is his duty to protect humankind. Just great he seemed to be following in Bastian’s footsteps. He had only met the female once…and now he felt the bond between them; it is ~~ Undeniable ~~ Powerful ~~ Addictive. When, his female, Angela Keene, a homicide detective, is kidnapped by the enemy he will do anything to save her.

      Angela, kidnapped by the Razorbacks, has to escape on her own or become just another victim. Her partner and fellow police officer, Mac, was thrown out a window of the police station right before she was ripped away from her life. Angela truly had no one else to save her, except herself.

      Mac wakes up to find himself in a hospital room and all he can think about is Angela. She was attacked and taken by dragons, that’s right dragons. He has to get out of the hospital and save Angela…but something is seriously wrong with him. He wants to be in the water. His bones and muscle feel like they are shifting.

      Rikar can’t get the female Angela out of his mind. After he fed from her power, he is linked to her but somehow when the Razorback’s took her, she went off the grid. He is obsessed with finding her, she captivates his mind.

      That’s just a basic summary of the first chapter or so of Fury of Ice and it just gets better from there. Coreene Callahan is a genius with dialog, the “real speak” pulls you in and keeps you invested in these amazing character from start to finish. Action, romance, friendship and belonging (family) takes main stage in this installment of the Dragonfury series. Plagiarizing a phrase that a friend once told me…there is just right amount of “dragon porn” to spice it up :D. Truly loving this series!

      I am a huge fan of dragons, so when I first got wind of this series I was really excited. I inhaled the first book, Fury of Fire and was thrilled to receive the second one through the Amazon Vine program. Especially since it focused on Rikar, I really gravitated towards his character in the first book and was eager to see how his story played out.We pick up right where we left off in Fury of Fire, Angela has been captured by Lothaire and Rikar will do anything possible to get her out. When we meet up with Angela she is currently under Lothaire’s control and it was not easy to read what she has been through. However, it did establish her as an extremely strong character and able to think on her feet. I admired her courage in the face of evil and her ability to fight for her life and not just cringe and wait to be rescued. Meanwhile, poor Rikar is losing his mind trying to find her and deal with a new member of the pack. I will not give away the identity of that member, but I should have seen it coming and just didn’t. Rikar is trying to help the new guy through the change and get Angela back. I liked getting to see him with the rest of the pack because each member is so unique and distinctive. Coreene does a great job of giving each character their own individual voice, so I never got confused about who is talking. I love that about her writing. While we get the point of views from both Rikar and Angela, we also get to see inside Lothaire and a couple other characters heads that you will have to wait and find out about. I know that having the point of view change so much might sound like it would be confusing, but it actually had the opposite effect. Seeing this world through so many eyes made the story flow very well and kept the plot moving forward. Each character held a piece to the overall puzzle and as we change point of views we get more pieces coming together to make the overall picture. It was a well-balanced book that did not linger too long on the action, the down time or the romance. Speaking of the romance, Angela had quite a few issues to work through before she could give her heart to Rikar. She had an emotional journey to go on before she could enter any kind of physical one with Rikar. And he was there for her every step of the way. Who would have thought that the guy who was giving Bastian a hard time in the last book would turn out to be just a big of a sap? These two were walking on eggshells around one another trying to feel the other out and see where they stood. They almost talked themselves out of a relationship before it even got off the ground, but luckily they let their guards down long enough to give their feelings a chance. It was a very different courtship from the one we saw with Bastian and Myst and I was happy to see Coreene change it up a bit to keep it exciting. The overall story arc with Ivar is still going strong and man is that one creepy guy. He is seriously twisted and I think he is just going to keep getting worse from here on out. He does not have as much page time as he did in the last book because Lothaire is really in charge of the battles in this book. However, I know we have not seen the last of Ivar and I am sure he will continue to cause problems in future books. He is a fantastic villain, easy to hate and definitely one I want to see brought down in the end. Overall, I am just completely hooked on this series! The dragon shifters in this world are fascinating and I cannot get enough of them. Luckily at the end of this book we get a sneak peak at the next book, Fury of Seduction, due out in October. I am so psyched to know who that book will be about and will be counting down the days until I can get my hands on it. If you have not checked out this series and are a fan of dragons and paranormal romance, then you are missing out! Make sure you read Fury of Fire first and then dive right into Fury of Ice.

      The second book in the Dragonfury trilogy starts right up where Fury of Fire left off. Detective Angela Keene had been captured by the Razorbacks— a segment of the half-dragon half-human species that humans aren’t aware of—to be used in a breeding program. As she looks for an escape, Rikar, a member of the Nightfuries—small group of warriors that regularly fight the Razorbacks in order to keep their species a secret from the humans—is desperate to save the woman he’d only met once, but felt a deep connection to.At the same time Angela’s partner, Mac, is experiencing his own physical problems as the dragon DNA he didn’t know he carries, activates after seeing a dragon when the precinct was attacked in the last book. He too is desperate to find the partner he thinks of as his little sister.The story itself is decent, although at times it still feels like I’m reading the work of another popular author. This aspect is easier to let go of in this book then it was in the first one because we aren’t really faced with any new similarities to the other author’s world than we hadn’t been exposed to in the prior book; which was rather jarring. However I’ve got the same complaint with this writing as I do with the other author’s. While a good job is done with the character building, they come across with the same voice due to the thoughts loaded with metaphors and the use of name brands to identify items. A couple of examples are Otis for elevator, and the brand of jeans I’ve never heard of instead of just saying jeans. It’s difficult to believe that all of these people think in the same manner. We are still missing a great deal of information I’d hoped would be explained in this book such as the approximate size of the dragons. We seem to get contradictory information as they can swat railroad cars around with their tails yet can land on an apartment balcony or be in a regular-sized room if their wings aren’t unfurled. How long does the average dragon live? How old are these particular guys? How does the Nightfury group make their money to furnish what they have along with all of their technology? We were told in the last book how the Razorbacks use unscrupulous manners to make theirs and since the Nighfuries are the good guys, well, it makes you wonder. And how does one elf do the cooking, cleaning and apparently the shopping, laundry, etc, since no other servants are ever mentioned and yet they live in a place that has more than 7 stories? Maybe these will be answered in the next book.Again, the story itself is decent. There is plenty of action, humor, sex, sexual tension and emotions. The characters are easy to like and appreciate. This is an author to watch.
