About this audiobook

Dominic, of the Dragonseeker lineage—one of the most powerful of the Carpathian lines—is desperate to go to the very heart of the enemy camp and learn their plans. There’s only one way to do so: ingest the parasitic blood of a vampire. He knows that it is a mission from which there is no return. With little time before the blood takes effect, he’ll get the information he needs, relay it to the leader of the Carpathians, and go out fighting. There is no more honorable way to end his life.

Solange Sangria is one of the last of the jaguar people, a royal pureblood, a dying species that cannot recover from bad decisions made over hundreds of years. She has long been alone, fighting to save the remaining shapeshifters from the hands of Brodrick the Terrible: her own father, who slaughtered her family and everyone she loved. Wounded and weary, she plans one last battle, hoping to stop the man who has made an alliance with the vampires, accepting that she will not come out alive.

They are two warriors who have lived their lives alone. Now, at the end of their time, they find each other—an obstacle neither saw coming, and which neither can hope to ignore.

This book is amazing I'm just loving these Carpathian books more and more. Making it harder to have a favorite.

Dominic, has gone through his existence alone and as one of the most powerful Carpathians he knows what better way to go down than with honor, so he ingests himself with parasitic blood so that he can blend in with the other vampires, and accomplish his mission that he set out to do. Only there is one hitch to the plan on his way to accomplishing his goal he finds his lifemate-Solange, who is everything he could have hoped for in a mate, and knows that he can't bind her to him and that he must let her go because he gave an oath. Solange has always felt alone, being a warrior and trying to save the females of her race, and now she plans on giving up once she destroys Broderick her father who has destroyed everyone and everything that she has ever loved. Then Dominic comes into her life and her world changes, and she knows deep in her heart that she will fight with every breath to keep him at her side...forever. Dark Peril is the 21st in the Dark series. I have just loved reading this series, and although I did enjoy reading Dark Peril it wasn't my favorite but still a intriguing read. I loved the whole edge in the story where they both plan to die but right before they do so their life mate comes into their lives---interesting timing wouldnt you say? The passion between Dominic and Solange is full of heat and spiraling desire that only intensifies the connection between the two. What I have always enjoyed about Feehan's books is the vivid pictures she brings to life and she definitely brought this story to life as well. Overall it was a enjoyable read, not one that I would buy or re read, but it was still a book to relax myself in.

I really loved this book. This is my favorite kind of love story. A lot of time was spent developing their relationship with both their thoughts and the dialogue. There wasn't any fighting or trust issues. The story surrounding their romance was interesting and kept the series moving forward. Both of the characters were extremely strong individuals, but also very lonely people who made each other extremely happy by being together. They were both warriors who fought to protect the weak. I enjoyed the short little poems at the beginning of each story.

Another good Carpathian book, I really enjoyed the two leading characters, Dominic and Solange. The way they met and got to know each other through dreams was a unique and interesting soul-searching way. The only complaint I have is that the middle of the story dragged a bit when they sat in the cave talking about how she needed to trust him completely - over and over again. If they have known each other from their imagination and dreams what is the most concerning thing about moving on. Once the action picked up again, Solange came to see her part more clearly and she was not afraid to follow Dominic the ending was good. There was less of the very annoying Carpathian language that Ms. Feehan started including for no apparent reason, at least there was less chanting than the last one. I hope she stops this altogether soon.
I hope Zacharius is next! I think he will be because he was featured so prominently in this one.

This is the sixth book in Christine Feehan's Dark series. I must admit that I am not really into vampire books--Anne Rice's books basically turned me off. So it was with much reluctance I took the plunge and read her first book, Dark Prince and was instantly hooked. I love the way she brings her readers into the world of the Carpathians. The vivid details in each of her books trully brings the readers in and lets them "see" thought the eyes of her characters. But most of all, I love the way her heroines are heroines we as women can be proud of--none of those insipid, shallow, fainting belles--instead she writes of their strength, compassion, kindness and courage.

The story centers on Darius, the brother of Gregori (Dark Magic) and Desari (Dark Challenge).

Within the first 20 pages, I was hooked. Darius meets his newly hired mechanic, Rusti Trine, upon rising after the Dark Troubadours show. Darius is stunned at the colors he sees the emotions he feels, and realizes he is staring at his lifemate. Rusti, also known as Tempest, is a small but feisty red-haired woman who is their auto mechanic. The pursuit begins as Darius proceeds to make Tempest his lifemate.

Tempest is a fiery woman with telepathic skills she communicates with animals and is the only human alive who is readily accepted by the Troubadours 2 leopards. Darius falls in love with her, almost at first sight and the story begins.

Christine Feehan has amazingly created an entire race that is fasinating to read about and the passion in these books is phenomenal. I doubt I'll ever get tired of this storyline. 5 well-earned stars.

This was by far my least favorite of the Christine Feehan's Carpathian Dark Series. To me it was very repetitive and predictable. The surprising twists at the end were its saving grace that caused me give it 3 stars.

I will continue to read the series as there are several characters I want to follow. As well as the hints that were revealed at the end of Dark Peril. Not to mention I generally do love this series and am not ready to give up on it yet!

This is one of the better books in the series, with the very driven and ferocious Solange of the Jaguar race fighting to protect the women of her people. Dominic also proved to be an extremely likable male, and this book is also important to the series story arc. The romance has a lot of the dom/sub thing going on, but in a saner and less obnoxious way than when it shows up in a couple of the other books.

Not enough about Solange & furthering the Carpathian vs. Malinov's plotline. Waaaaaay too many pages of sex and them discussing their feelings for each other.

I don't really know how to feel about this book. Eventually it did draw me in--the second half was much better than the first, in my opinion--but on the whole, I don't feel that warm-fuzzy feeling that you get after finishing a truly good romance. Dominic was a good character--I like that he acknowledges that he needs a warrior woman. Solange...I don't know. For her, I thought there was too much back and forth. I'm ok--no, I'm not ok. Some of that, but give me a reason and make it convincing. And the character spends so much time thinking about her family, and how everything she does is for them, etc...but we never get a scene with them (except in the "deleted scenes" at the end, which are completely unnecessary. It's a book--either keep them in, or take them out.) and I think this is a huge failing of Ms. Feehan's. So, a three is all I can give this.

I have another favorite to add to the Daratrazanoff Brothers, Dominic Dragonseeker. I have a weakness for a loving dominant male and Dominic is all of that and more. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book. I mean Solange wasn't a very likeable character in earlier books. However you get a good look at what her life has become and the background into why she hates male so much. It tore my heart out when Dominic drink the parasite infected vampire blood so he sould find out what the vampires and humans were planning. He is another that has held on so he could find is beloved sister only to find out that she died many years ago in pain and torture. He is so gentle with Solange but seems resolved to get his way as well. There is the introduction of some new mages that are doing horrible things to jungle cats for their perverse experiment and black magic. You also see more of Zacharias in this books. It pulled at my heart strings that he cam so close to turning. He has held out for so long and taken such good care of all his brothers and his people. I am really looking forward to his story.

I really liked the story of Dominic and Solange. He was introduced to us during Dark Demon and she has featured in most of the Dark stories from South America. I enjoy the whole Dark Series but I do have to admit they are repetitive and many scenes, conversations, and descriptions appear as though they have been cut and pasted from previous stories. But the stories and backgrounds of the heroines brings uniqueness to each book, makes them worth reading and keeps me coming back for more. Solange is no exception. She is a shifter with magiacal abilities that change the path of the Carpathians and opens up new possibilities for future stories.

So many years spent alone left Dominic of the Dragonseeker line with few options that he liked. Making the decision to help his race find and destroy some of their enemies seemed the most honorable way to him. Action had been taken to follow that course before he realized that he woman he had been dreaming about for so long was real. Finding, freeing and protecting the women of her own race had been Solange Sangria’s self proclaimed duty. The support and encouragement her dream companion offered was the only thing that got her through some of the tough days and nights, realizing he was there for her now in a more real way left her feeling open and vulnerable in a way she had never been before. Their enemies turned out to be common ones, the answer to the threat facing both of their races may be with in them to handle if they can work together.Book 21 ….. Ok, predictable but I am such a Carpathians fan that I enjoyed it. I liked the tough girl Solange when we first met her and knew that if she got a story it would be fast paced and action filled, and this did not disappoint. The Dragonseeker line has also been a strong lineage but the best parts where the tender moments between these two warriors. As always I liked the inclusion of other characters we have met before and would love to see Zacarias get his own story also (and he needs it soon from the sound of it). I know I have to wait for another year for the next Carpathian book, so interested in seeing who it is for that I will have my eye one Christine Feehans website.

Dark Peril is book 19 of the dark series. And after 19 books the series is becoming extremely repetitious. The heroine is psychologically damaged; the hero is on the brink of turning evil; they struggle with trust issues and with turning the heroine into a Carpathian. Meanwhile the newest, most all powerful vampire of the week tries to destroy them. One slightly different plot twist is mercifully introduced however. Instead of continuing to focus on the mages, this novel focuses on the tainted jaguar males, lead by the horribly names Broderick the Terrible. Broderick the Terrible…really? This particular installment features Solange Sangria and Dominic Dragonseeker as they continue the battle of the Carpathians versus the vampires/mages/humans/tainted jaguars. The story moves at a glacial pace and I found myself skim reading multiple times. Solange and Dominic, while not badly written, are not the most compelling hero and heroine of this long series. The best part is the set up for the next book, which I am betting will feature Zacharias and Margareta. Readers can only hope that some progress in the central plot, namely the Carpathians fight against the mages and lead vampires will be made in that book.

As many of you know, I will always have a special place in my heart for Christine Feehan's Dark Carpathian series. It was really the first series in the paranormal romance genre that I ever picked up, and I've been hooked on those dark, dangerous men and their courageous lifemates ever since! When I pick up a new novel in this series, it's like visiting old friends again. Feehan is a master of creating coherent worlds and tying her characters together, and Dark Peril is no exception.I don't think I've read much about Dominic previously, but there has been a bit about Solange's life and past in some of Feehan's earlier novels. What I do remember is that I didn't really care for her when she appeared in some of the other stories set in South America. But in Dark Peril, Solange and Dominic have become fully realized, charismatic characters, and are two of my favorite lifemates. I have really been enjoying the direction Feehan has taken the stories - scientifically speaking (without giving to much away) - and I can't wait to see what the new developments in Dark Peril will mean for the rest of the Carpathians in future books.

I liked the other books a lot better. wanted to see more of the other characters. wanted to know if the microbes where defeated.but i did enjoy it. I thought they where a good fit both fighters and wanting to help others.
