- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Amy was probably my favorite female artist of all time, such a sad story and sad end to her life.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It's not a good sign when I start skimming through the pages of a book because I'm getting bored with the content. This could have been a very compelling story but it's not well told. Mitch Winehouse loved his daughter very much and cared for her well being but there are just too many incidents where she is going to quit drugs or alcohol and regresses. He gives a very solid portrayal of her life within the very loving Winehouse family, her early success in the industry and her unhealthy relationship with her husband Blake Civils. Her premature death was a tragedy as she had a great voice and a talent for writing lyrics. Again, a good editor could have cleaned up the content.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Amy's father, Mitch, tells his daughters story, one of music, fame and drugs. I found myself really disliking Mitch and Amy by the end of the book. Everything was really just the same cycle, drugs/alcohol, saying she is quitting, drugs/alcohol, saying she is quitting. Mitch seemed to blame her problems on others, rather than looking at himself, his family or Amy's psychological state. Overall, I thought this book was a bust.
