About this audiobook

Inez Urso is beginning to have her doubts. Her business associate Thomas Argeneau has some interesting traits, like an allergic reaction to the sun, excellent night vision, and not much of an appetite for food. And to top it all off, he just tried to bite her neck . . . but maybe that was a sign of passion. If so, she'd be happy to experience more, despite her determination not to mix business with pleasure.

Well, if not forever, at least two hundred years. Inez is the most beautiful woman he's seen in centuries. Those luscious lips, seductive curves, and her elegant neck . . . he just couldn't resist the temptation of one little bite. Now Thomas will do anything to convince her that only an immortal like him can satisfy her all night long . . .

I can sum up this book by saying it's a vampire romance story. It does bring a little something new to the background of vampires, but mostly it's exactly what you'd expect from this type of book. That being said, I really enjoyed it and I look forward to reading more from this series.

The Hero: Thomas Argeneau - he was raised by his aunt Marguerite Argeneau, who recently became a private detective and is now missing in London, so he is on his way there to try and find her. Thomas is an immortal who had a love for music and Marguerite taught him to play the piano and guitar when he was young and had been writing music without telling anyone except his two cousins, though his aunt told his cousin Etienne that he had been publishing music anonymously for years.

The heroine: Inez Urzo - she works for Bastian Argeneau in London as Vice President of UK operations for Argeneau Enterprises in London, England. Early one morning she was called by Bastian and asked to pick up Thomas at the airport. She had seen Thomas once before several months ago in New York and wasn’t impressed with his California surfer dude type speech, which she thought funny since he was from Ontario, Canada. She figured he was just an errand boy for the company which made the task a pain in the butt, but since her boss wanted her to pick him up, she did.

The Story: Inez was surprised to be snubbed when Thomas seemed to see her at the airport, yet still got into a taxi and drive off. Their relationship started on a bit of a sour note. She then went to his hotel, and they got to know each other better, Inez finds out he is in London to find his aunt and her initial perception of him as a spoiled lazy young man fell by the wayside. The storyline about their journey to find Marguerite was a good one.

This book was told in dual points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Rick Robertson who does a great job. I love this series, and I have read them all out of order which worked out fine, though there are some with series arcs that happen, I usually can easily figure out what is going on and each is a different couple. I don’t tend to read the ones about the female immortals, because I like paranormal romance where the Hero is paranormal, and the heroine is just a normal girl who finds herself in a paranormal world.

I have to say that even though it can get repetitious from book to book when the immortals tell the heroine about their immortality and what it all means. How they are immortal, not vampires, the nano’s in their blood that were created by scientists in Atlantis thousands of years ago, yada-yada-yada…I still love that part each and every time and who wouldn’t love the fact that when new life mates finally get together, things get so steamy they always pass out after the act. I could read or listen to many more in this series and hope Lynsay keeps writing them.

I was not a big fan of this one. It may have had a lot to with Rick Robertson's horrible attempt at a Portuguese accent. Or perhaps it was Lynsay's inability to write properly for a character of color. In either case, I was sadly disappointed. I hope that if Lynsay incorperates more diverse female leads in future she will round them out better.

Boring with no real fun. I loved Tomas in all the other books and here he and his lifemate were just OK, then on top of that the back story had no backbone and wasn't answered in the end. Be ready to go on to the next book for answers... but truly, I didn't care why at the end. I did read on as I had the next book out and ready. The next is better.

This is probably my least favorite of the Argeneau series so far, although Thomas has been a favorite character of mine. This story also had one of the best "mysteries" yet, with the disappearance of Marguerite & it wasn't completely resolved at the end of this book, but I believe her story is next so that's probably why the author couldn't reveal where she's been. I just couldn't get into Thomas' story & it seems he was written completely differently than he had in all the previous books. Although an explanation was given for him dropping his irreverent "surfer dude" type persona, it was weak & completely forgotten the minute it was explained why he been acting that way for 100? 200 years?? with some members of his family. It just seemed contrived & when Thomas lost the "dudes" it seems he lost anything remotely interesting about himself too. No more development regarding him secretly being a composer, etc. I liked Inez, but just really couldn't get into either one of these characters. Overall, I think the book felt rushed.

Like always, Sands writes them light and passionate, and I really like it. It's a great formula because I can just sit down with the book and read and read. They are relaxing.

And this might be my favorite to date. I do not what made it so, perhaps it was Thomas, a nice hottie. Or perhaps it was Inez, a curvy woman who lives for her job. Together they were perfect. As always the passion is sizzling between these too and what is there not to like when Thomas bites her a bit too quickly and finds out that she is his lifemate. Trouble in sight. And she is not a woman to stand by and do nothing.

The story then, here it's about finding Marguerite who is missing and that hunt takes them over England and to Amsterdam. I have been waiting a while for Marguerite's book now and I am happy to say that it's number 9 so soon I will see if she can find happiness too.

Fun and light, passion and suspense, that is all promised in this book. And hearing about the fall of Atlantis again sure makes me want a book about that. Now that would be cool, but that's ok, I can live in the present.

    Conclusion:
It turned out just as I hoped it would. A good book to keep me company, and vampires sure are forever.

I really liked the character of Thomas from previous books and was happy with his own story and life-mate, there is good continuity from other books into the story of Marguerite which keeps the reader interested for the rest of the series, really enjoying listening to the books!! :)

Thomas Argeneau goes to London to look for his Aunt Marguerite who has disappeared. She has just found herself a job as a private detective and has gone off in search of the mother of a client.Bastian has asked Inez Urso to help Thomas with his quest - she is vice president of Argeneau Enterprises London Office. When Inez first meets Thomas she finds him arrogant but that does not last long as he convinces her pretty quickly that she is his lifemate - she is a bit worried when he explains what that means and who they are! Their journey takes them on what turns out to be wild goose chase to Amsterdam and York, it was interesting to visit these 2 cities.I found this book quite entertaining, there were a few comic moments and I did enjoy the fact the Inez was tempted straight away with heing the mate for Thomas.

It was entertaining and kept me reading I'm still left with a slight feeling that there was something lacking in the romance of the two characters, the romance of them creating a long-term relationship rather than slight attraction and casual sex. This series is quite readable but the vampires don't really come across as that old, that knowledgeable about the world and how it works, that experienced.Don't get me wrong, it did keep me well up past my proper bedtime and I really did get a longing to go back to Amsterdam but somehow the characters didn't come alive for me and I wasn't rooting for them.Inez Urso (who, contrary to the US cover has curly hair she keeps bemoaning) is Portugese living in London, working for the Argeneau family in their business and is good at her job, she doesn't know about the Argeneau secret, but she is loyal to the company, so when the director rings her at 5am and asks her to meet his cousin in the airport and to grease the wheels for him in his quest to find the family matriarch, she does just that, without thinking and without breakfast or a shower. She misses Thomas Argeneau at the airport because her boss forgot to mention that she would be there. It turns out that there's more to them than just work, she's attracted and he suspects that they're lifemates, but will she be able to embrace the life?Yeah, it's pretty predictable, but, as I said, very readable.

Inez Urso has been sent by her boss Bastien, to meet his cousin, Thomas at the Airport, since he is new to London. So she is a bit irritable with it being five in the morning, no shower or a cup of tea, and when she happens to meet Thomas at the Airport, he looks at her and then abruptly walks away and gets a cab. Inez is pretty upset to say the least, after all she is the Vice President of the UK operations. So wanting to impress her boss Bastien she goes to the hotel after Thomas, planning on giving him a piece of her mind. Thomas Argeneau has come to London to search for his Aunt Margeurite who, along with her partner, has gone missing. So when he arrives at his hotel, he gets a call from Bastien, when at the same time he hears a knock at his hotel room door, and as he opens it to find a very angry Inez Urso, he can tell she is railing at him, but can't understand what she is saying she is is lecturing him in Portuguese, unfortunately Bastien understand every bit of the language. Inez and Thomas have started to a bright start haven't they? However things get even more interesting when Thomas has to feed on her, per orders by Bastien, and finds that he can't erase her memories, that Inez is his life mate. Of course that just get Inez furious at him all over again, I mean what woman wouldn't be right? Eventually after being calmed down somewhat, she agrees to help him try to find his Aunt, which is his purpose here. They are both taken on a bumpy road of adventure, passion, and a danger that neither one of them sees coming. To say that I was delighted by this one, is a understatement. Its been quite a while since I have read this one. Probably since it first came out, but I have wanted to read the Argeneau Series, and so I just had to pick this one up. It started up pretty amusing, and had me just laughing the whole way through, apart from the thrilling and moments that set my body on edge. Even though I have read this before, all I remembered was the basic points of the story. I fell in love all over again with Inez and Thomas. Inez is one of those women, that you could get coffee and go shopping with. I found myself relating myself to her so much. She has such a witty and fun personality, and yet has a low opinion of herself physically at least. I could definitely relate, as I think most women do. But when she starts connecting with Thomas and finds herself losing her heart to him, there is a confidence about her that blossoms throughout the story. Thomas of course is a hoot, don't we all love him? I found it so amusing how he handles Inez throughout the story, it was one laugh after another. There were times where I kept thinking they are so perfect for one another. I loved how strong their connect intimately, and the love scenes were sexy and erotic and seemed timed perfectly, and had the perfect mix of wit, romance and danger that we all love in this vampire series.
