American, Ember Jones, moved to Barcelona after a terrible accident in her past. Haunted by the trauma, she is barely alive emotionally just living day by day and not letting anyone get close to her. Christian McLoughlin is on a suicide mission to kill the enemy that has placed the shape-shifting race of the Ikati in danger. While on his mission, he meets Ember, a woman who intrigues him and makes him want to live.J.T. Geissinger does it again with another amazing book in the Night Prowler Series. Sometimes when I’m reading a book in a sequence, I feel like I’m reading the same story with different characters. That is not the case for the Night Prowler Series. I love that each novel is related, but you don’t feel like your reading the same story over again. Edge of Darkness has a little of everything: romance, action, humor, fantasy, supernatural, paranormal, politics….The characters are great. I especially enjoyed the colorful personality of Ember’s friend and neighbor, Asher. His explanation of how all men fit into three categories: Alpha, Beta, and Assholes was priceless.I always liked Christian’s character in the previous novels and felt a bit sorry for him. It was nice that it was his turn to find that special someone. I thought it was great that there was more to Ember, and she was not some flashy model type that you could totally envision him with. Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:*eARC received via the Publisher from Netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewJ.T never fails to captivate with her Night Prowler novels, and from the very start of this installment she had me saying 'wow' once again.Edge of Darkness is a delightful mix of intrigue, action, drama and romance with a decidedly Dan Brown antagonist feel, it was a wonderful read.Edge of Darkness's hero is Leander's younger brother, Christian, who has willingly offered himself up for a suicide missing to keep the Clan's secrets and defeat their nemesis. Our heroine is just like us... a plainly beautiful woman who doesn't believe she's pretty and hides behind baggy clothes and books. Their interactions are not at all easy and fluffy. There is tension galore, and the secrets that each of them are keeping just adds to the intrigue. This installment of the series focuses a lot more on the Ikati in their human lives, and therefore is a bit different than the other books thus far. It's a little slower, but steady in its grip. Fans of both J.T Geissinger and Dan Brown will certainly see some influence in this book with both the very beginning and the other villain that the couple must overcome. I've read some low rated reviews because of this, but there are very few books out there that don't have similarities, and if you like both of these authors as much as I do, why not just enjoy the ride!? I gave the book an easy 4 skulls and still highly recommend this series!

The fourth book in the Night Prowler series is a entertaining steady paced book that builds the reader’s anticipation to a wonderful climax.Emma Jones is an emotionally and physically scarred young woman living a quiet and isolated life in Barcelona. Hiding her tragic past, she keeps her down and her heart locked up tight until her carefully controlled world is shattered forever by a mysterious stranger. Hiding his own dark secrets Christian McLoughlin is wealthy, cultured and charismatic and knowing he shouldn’t he succumbs to his attraction to Ember and embark on a passionate affair. Then things turn explosive when their pasts collide and they are caught in a web danger that neither may survive. The steady paced plot is an intriguing read with action, suspense, romance and surprises along the way that grabs the reader’s attention and doesn’t let go. The author brings this fascinating world to life with vividly painted images, sometimes snarky and humorous dialogue and strong compelling characters. The romance between Emma and Christian is full of emotional turmoil and red hot passion that explodes into a passionate affair that arouses heartfelt emotions in the reader. The author conveys the emotions with an intensity that has the reader feeling as if they are part of the story. The shapeshifting world created by the author is a fantastic read with unique twists and surprises that keep the reader guessing. I didn’t want to put the book down once I started it and found it to be a refreshingly different take on shapeshifters and the paranormal world. There were a couple of questions that were left unanswered for me, but I this is the first book that I have read in this series, so maybe when I go back and read the first three those questions will become clear. I am definitely adding this series to my must have list.
