About this audiobook

In New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase’s sizzling and hilarious debut novel, Drew Evans—gorgeous, arrogant, irreverent, and irresistibly charming—meets his match in new colleague Kate Brooks.

When rich, handsome, and arrogant meets beautiful, brilliant, and ambitious, things are bound to get tangled...

Drew Evans makes multimillion-dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu, but we all know that’s not really true.

When Katherine Brooks is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

How can one woman turn a smooth-talking player into a broken, desperate man? By making the one thing he never wanted in life the only thing he can’t live without.

These types of alpha stories are usually a DNF or low rating for me. If it moves, he wants to have sex with it one time and move on. She is wary of him based on her being engaged plus her first impression and the gossip around the office. Eventually they get together and things look great.

This story will have you laughing out loud and if you are in public, you may get some looks. This was going to be a 5 Star for me until the misunderstanding that both blow out of proportion. He reverts to being an extreme ass until they figure out that it was all a misunderstanding. That wasn't the problem for me... It happened with nearly 2 hours left in the story. For the next 100 minutes, he groveled and she kept saying hell no. It was way too much and I ended up skipping nearly 45 minutes in total time over the last 2 hours.

Had it been 30 minutes instead of 100 minutes, it would have been a solid 5 Stars in my mind.

Who hasn't recommended this book to all their friends? It's a must read! It's smart, funny, and oh-so sexy. I laughed out loud numerous times but there was still a lot of depth to the characters, our hero especially, so that I couldn't stop rooting for his happy ending. A witty, modern romance. I can't wait for the next edition of the series.

    I am in love ?
In the beginning I wasn’t. I was like: okay this asshole needs to back off. I hated Drew’s attitude up to the forth chapter and almost stopped listening to the story because it just wasn’t my style. But then it became interesting because he started to act relatable. More like someone likeable. By the end of the story I can just say that I love how it’s written. How you get carried away listening to it.

*contains spoilers*Tangled is the first book in the tangled series and I finally got up the courage to grab up this novel. I have had this book on my TBR for the longest time ever, and so I finally grabbed it from KU (and Scribd also carries it if you are a subscriber there too) and I will say that this book was the most unique that I have ever read from Emma Chase. I have really enjoyed this author's writing style and most especially in how she handles dual POV in the majority of her books but I believe that this is the first time that I have ever picked up a book where its in 1st POV---with the hero's perspective and boy I LOVED it. I know this is a much harder perspective for authors to write, but seriously I fell in love and it seemed so realistic. And Emma Chase knows how to handle a good flashback scenario. She writes it in such a way that I didn't mind it at all. So BRAVO Emma Chase. Tangled begins with our hero, Drew, which starts off with him being sick in his apartment. And he is more heart sick than anything else, because he has fallen hard in love and lost someone special and believes he has lost her forever so he then takes us back down memory lane. So we are taken back four months previous to the beginnings of the first chapter where Drew meets his lovely kickass lady...Katherine Brooks. Their first meeting happens at a club, and Drew is a ladies man, loves sex and isn't ashamed of his one night stands. But there is one woman that draws his attention, but even though she seems amused by his antics, she is engaged and leaves him and Drew is a bit shocked. He doesn't ever get turned down. But his shock comes when the sexy woman that he can't get out of his mind is to work with him on projects for his work. And now he knows that he is trouble because he never ever mixes business with pleasure but Katherine is tempting him. But soon his father and his boss, forces Katherine and Drew to battle each other for certain projects and the war is on. And before either of them realizes it the angst between them turns to passion and fiery love that is never boring. But Drew makes a dreadful mistake and hurts Katherine in the worst way and now Drew knows he must win Katherine back. She is the only woman he could love and doesn't want to lose her. But who will win this battle? I actually found this book to be quite amusing from beginning to end. I will mention that the pacing could have been slightly better. The first few pages really get you hooked, but the beginning part of the flashback is written a bit slower than how the book begins, so you do need to stick with it. But I did fall in love with seeing Drew's perspective and it was so different than I was expecting going into this book. First off this author's writing style of writing from the male perspective is hilarious and has such a realistic feel to it but I found it so relatable in the small ways. Its quirky and weird and fun. I was fine not having the heroine's perspective because Emma Chase does a wonderful job in how she styles this story. There is LOTS of angst, especially in the first meetings between Katherine and Drew and boy these two really hate each other at first and loved the jokes they play on each other just for a job hehe I really couldn't get enough of seeing what they would do next to each other. Then we see how that hate game that they are playing turns into passion and boy they could make the house burn down with the fiery hot desire they feel for each other. But we see that even though they do great in bed, they have great chemistry and intimacy that develops between them. And then the downfall and misunderstanding happens and yes men are idiots and we see the evidence of that in Drew. He is a flawed human being and he knows it. But he is also devoted to his family, loyal when he chooses and is a fighter. We see the true strength of his character and what he is willing to do to get his girl. Katherine is a badass heroine, she is smart, passionate, strong willed and goes after her dreams. But she has her own vulnerabilities and is all about relationships and doesn't trust Drew after he hurts her and I like that she sticks with her guns in this book. She knows what she wants and she wants to be treated right and boy she really puts Drew in the ringer for quite a while but I loved seeing all his crazy schemes to get her to open up to him again. Overall I found Tangled to be a endearing read of laughs, gumption and true love that is a battle but worth the fight!! FANTASTIC!

Such a well written story. Funny, cheesy, sad, sexy, romantic and so much more. I love seeing the story through Drew's POV. Thanksgiving dinner had me laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath. I could totally picture it in my head. I had to pause the audio I was laughing so hard. Thank you for the good read.

This book and the Royally Yours series are probably my favorite Emma Chase novels, but I'm slightly weighted toward "Tangled."

It's just such a spicy delight! It's a pretty accurate capture of an accomplished male attorney's psyche and libido well represented by Sebastian York's amusing narration.

Can't wait to forget about it so I can listen to it again in a year or so!

4 stars blurb says all you need to know to choose this book. Emma Chase's an accomplished writer. Sebastian York, as always, made characters real but even he needs a female co-narrator - especially in narrating sizzling scenes.

Drew is the typical player in the business world and he has no shame whatsoever when it comes to his shenanigans.

Until he tries it on Kate in a bar who knows exactly who he is and doesn't even let him play his full hand.

Kate is a no BS kind girl and she definitely makes Drew work for it. It's interesting being in Drew's POV throughout the story, knowing his intentions and still cringing at the outcome because a woman like Kate doesn't need OTT.

Emma Chase has created a fun filled rom com with a steamy filled weekend that added all the spice. Drew knows his way around any womans body but he makes it his mission to learn every inch of Kate when things heat up.

I loved all the side characters, I was afraid there would be some lost personalities but everyone stood out and adding in the big sister made the family dynamic so much more hilarious.

I must be the minority who isn't in love with this book. *ducks*
I don't really have a particular reason. It's just it didn't do anything for me. Maybe I was not in the mood. I liked that kid though and some of the deliberately humorous sentences. And grovelling.

I liked the POV, usually written from a woman's POV so this was refreshing, I hated the MC most of the time. He's a privileged SOB. The setting is also a low point for me, with so many interesting professions to choose from why make the main characters bankers. The reason this got 3 stars was because it was very funny, and I'll be reading more of the series in fact I'm starting on part 1.5 now.

This breaks my heart. A 1-star from one of my favorite romance authors. This is an early book, maybe her first, so the great news is that she got SO much better. Her current Royally series is an absolute delight. But this book is awful. Kate, the female lead, is lovely. So you want her to run fast and hard from this creep named Drew. Drew is gorgeous and rich and great in bed, so he is a dream one night stand, but you need to leave before coffee because he is a lousy person. All he cares about is money and having sex with a string of women he only sees once. He has a whore-madonna complex as big as the ocean, terrible taste in music, and he is pretty basic. He is like a 12 year old with an Amex Black and a Viagra prescription. I misspoke actually, he also cares about his office furnishings and his Aston Martin. (He is exactly the guy who would have one in NYC --- because an expensive low slung car that would allow you to never see anything but the car in front of you in traffic is great. The whole car thing is so bridge and tunnel.) Drew makes nasty cracks about feminists and men who he sees as insufficiently manly (whom he calls "vaginas" because of course that is an insult.) He defines masculine women as being like Hillary Clinton. He says Hillary Clinton couldn't keep her man from cheating (obviously Bill has no responsibility) because she didn't give head. (As if we know about Hillary"s sexuality. ) Hear that ladies? Making men behave honorably is our responsibility, and if they behave dishonorably its our fault. Drop to your knees to save the world sisters!Perhaps the worst part of this book is that it portrays stalking a romantic gesture. Stalking in her workplace no less (his workplace too, which is a separate issue.). MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!! She is trying to work, and he gets a terrible 80s cover band to follow her around playing terrible music so she can't serve her clients. He fills her office with balloons and flowers. This is a 1st year investment banker in an all male pod. Way to destroy her credibility! Drew tells Kate he won't stop stalking her unless she has dinner with him and finally she breaks down so she can work. There is nothing romantic about being stalked.and being forced to capitulate to keep your job. Its terrifying. Luckily I did not have a situation which included violence, but its not uncommon. The whole predator vs. prey mindset which underlies stalking is a recipe for violence. Tenacity is hot, baring your heart and soul in private is hot. Showing up in a person's office to beg them to take you back and tracking their activities is obsessive and dangerous. This sick messaging is for people who think I'll be Watching You is a love song.Stick to later Emma Chase, its great, really. Leave this on the shelf.

Drew is my new book boyfriend. I don't have a lot of them... it usually takes quite a character to make me call him that, but ohhhhh did Drew do it for me! I adored the writing style of this book. I'm not big on first person stories, especially present tense (they just strike me as strange) but I absolutely loved how Drew talked to the reader. It wasn't just some story, it was as if the two of us were hanging out in some bar and he was telling me the whole sordid tale. Bravo! Fun story, steamy and irreverent and had me from the first word to the last.

    Bring on book 2!

We’ve all read the story about the “good girl” who, against her better judgement, falls for the “bad boy”. The man-whore. The one guy that she knows will probably break her heart in the end, but she still hopes that somehow, someway, he’ll realize that all he needs to complete his life is her and they’ll live happily ever after. This is that story, straight from the man-whore’s mouth.Drew Evans is the ultimate playboy. He’s got the looks, the money, the killer apartment, and all the women he could ever want falling at his feet. In fact, he makes a point to never see the same chick twice. His attitude: been there, done that (literally). All of that changes when he meets Kate Brooks, he just doesn’t know it yet. This book was hilarious. Everything that Drew said, be it out loud or in his head, had me cracking up. He was cocky, arrogant, and a bit of a douche, but the dude was a freaking riot. And as much as I couldn’t help but like him, I have to admit that it was kind of awesome to watch him get knocked off of his high horse. What is it that they say? The bigger they are, the harder they fall? Yeah, well, as far as egos go, you won’t find one much bigger than Drew Evans’.And I really liked that Kate was a strong female character. She was intelligent and strong-willed, and she could dish it out as well as she could take it. At one point she and Drew have this knock down, drag out, epic battle of wits that is absolutely fantastic. If you’re looking for something light to read this summer, this is your book. Tangled was a quick, fun read. It wasn’t complex or particularly deep, but it was extremely entertaining.

3.5-4 stars. I really wanted to love this based on all of the reviews! I felt like something was missing. I found Drew a little annoying and unoriginal in his tireless efforts to woo Kate. There were a few funny lines that made me chuckle but I didn't find this book hilarious. Eh...maybe it's bad timing and I'm just in the wrong mood for this one...

This book has a perfect combination of sarcasm, wit and romance.

I loved Drew and Kate's characters especially their super hilarious banters. Plus, I loved that this was told in Drew's POV. There's nothing I love better than hearing the male character's thoughts.

Loved this book. So much. Perfect
