About this audiobook
Dr. Joe does more than simply explore the history and the physiology of the placebo effect. He asks the question: “Is it possible to teach the principles of the placebo, and without relying on any external substance, produce the same internal changes in a person’s health and ultimately in his or her life?” Then he shares scientific evidence (including color brain scans) of amazing healings from his workshops, in which participants learn his model of personal transformation, based on practical applications of the so-called placebo effect. The book ends with a “how-to” meditation for changing beliefs and perceptions that hold us back—the first step in healing.
You Are the Placebo combines the latest research in neuroscience, biology, psychology, hypnosis, behavioral conditioning, and quantum physics to demystify the workings of the placebo effect . . . and show how the seemingly impossible can become possible.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This was so disappointing! I feel I just continuously listened to a teleshopping advertisement. Except from the beginning which was promising, explaining the biology of the brain and its mechanics, this book was simply a waste of time.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Interesting book but this audio does not include the meditations they must be bought from his site. If the book is about how these meditations change beliefs but it doesn't include them does that make this book useless? You decide

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Complete and utter self-masturbatory nonsense. Do anything but waste time listening to this moron who got hit by a truck, turned down docs, heals slower than surgery (look it up) then proclaims a whole ton of nonsense from across a wide spectrum of misinterpretations.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I came to this book with expectations of learning something to enable me to lessen the pain of chronic asthma and arthritis. I will spend at least 2 weeks meditating using his videos that I have found on line. I am hopeful.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book doesn't give any specific information on how to achieve that placebo effect. If you want to learn how to it, read Think and grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, written in 1937.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A must read. You can change your life. Thank you Dr Joe
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In my world,Dr Joe Dispenza’s books are hands down, period.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Book premise is sound within a certain framework; cherry picked cases and generalized assertions take away from the credibility of the subject matter unfortunately. The author’s attempt to further capitalize through select focus on “his” workshops further reduced his credibility; much of the discussion there us better addressed by experts that pioneered the use of EEG in scientifically based studies starting in the 1970s (see “The Awakened Mind” by Max Cade, also The Mind Mirror EEG now under Judith Pennington). As to a deep dive into nature of consciousness through the lens of Quantum Physics, researcher and NASA Physicist Tom Campbell’s trilogy “My Big TOE (Theory of Everything)” will bring much to the table for both left and right brain searchers alike.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Extremely fascinating and insightful. The power of the mind is continually underestimated, whereas the power of the artificial continues to gain traction. We all can and truly need to change!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great stories of self healing. Excellent documentation and story telling. The reader and writer do a great job illustrating what is really possible in the Quantum Realm. Forward looking is so powerful. Love the meditations I am getting from his other books! Do the work see your life change ?
