About this audiobook
The delicious sequel to Venom and Vanilla, from USA Today bestselling author Shannon Mayer.
Alena Budrene is not just a gifted Seattle baker—she’s also a supernatural. Having survived the virus that made her transformation necessary and outwitted an attack by a Greek hero, she’s ready to settle down and deal with the challenges of living as a “Super Duper.”
But nothing is easy for a woman who can turn into a giant snake. Threatened by her unprecedented strength, Alena’s enemies team up against her. What’s next on the menu? The duplicitous demigod Theseus—backed by a ruthless vampire gang and the power-hungry goddess Hera—is determined to lure her into a glorious, and rather public, battle to the death.
Now humans, even the ones Alena risks her life to protect, are afraid to acknowledge her existence. And when the friends who once rallied around her begin to fall prey to Theseus’s manipulative schemes, Alena realizes she must act before she loses everything. But will the price of success be too high to pay?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loving this trilogy!I never seem to be able to sleep when I am reading a Shannon Mayer book. I convince myself that I'm going to read just one more chapter and then it turns into three. Does anyone else suffer from this strange phenomenon?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Fangs and Fennel (The Venom Trilogy #2) by Shannon Mayer continues the story with more mythological beasts and Alena still trying to get her bakery back. Sure she can turn into a 20 foot snake and use her Siren gifts but she is also having to fight more monsters. This is such a fun series. There are great characters, creatures, and humor sprinkled through out the story! The narrator is awesome at keeping the flow perfect with the story!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is definitely an interesting one! Humans transformed into magical creatures - and not your usual vampires and werewolves, though they're around, too! Deities, demi-gods, and folklore monsters, all living in a society where humanity has an uneasy truce with the beings it considers to be non-human.This is an absolutely great twist on the usual hero and monster tale, and the main character is well-developed and interesting. It's not easy being able to transform into a gigantic venomous snake!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was provided free by NetGalley for review.A supernatural- in a place where, if you're turned, the government declares you dead- trying to get a divorce from her cheating husband and save her bakery.. Now throw in assorted vampires, werewolves, gods, monsters and mayhem and you begin to get the picture. Can our heroine find justice and acceptance or just accept the judgement of others? Quick moving with snarky parts and I can do attitude.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am thoroughly enjoying this urban fantasy series. I like how Alena is growing as a person. I love the mix of baking and Greek mythology. This book adds in more Greek gods and goddesses as well as another hero determined to kill Alena. Alena also has to face her husband in a court system that doesn't acknowledge she exists if she wants a divorce and to keep her inheritance and bakery. As seems to be true of so many women, Alena will fight to protect her friends and family, but has trouble standing up for herself. Learning to do that is a theme in this book. This quotation really sums it up for me, "I had to find ways to make it as a monster, to find my own path without other people trying to save me at every turn. I needed to be able to stand on my own two feet, tail, whatever."If you like urban fantasy, give this series a whirl. You will need to start with Venom and Vanilla as this book does not stand on its own.
