- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good book about the flu epidemic of 1918. Very good author and narrator.
Listening to this story as the COVID 19 pandemic winds down, I’m thinking that we should all fall to our knees and thank God that we live in the age of modern medicine! There no doubt was plenty of suffering during this pandemic and plenty of people died, but without the help of modern medicine the suffering of the sick would have been far, far worse.
This story, written way before the advent of COVID, really drives this point home.
Great character development as all facets of human nature are brought to the surface in this frightening and most terrifying scenario. Quite a multifaceted and complex story. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hits very close to home during the COVID pandemic. Makes you examine your own feelings and beliefs and question what you would do. Very well written.
