Descriere

In eight years, Marlon James will be one of the brightest rising stars in the music industry. Bristol Gray will be his tough, no-nonsense manager.

But when they first meet, she's a college student finding her way in the world, and he's an artist determined to make his way in it.

From completely different worlds, all the things that should separate them only draw them closer.

It's a beautiful beginning, but where will the story end?

Contains mature themes.

Here we get to see how Bristol and Marlon(Grip) meet and what goes down
I can't wait to see what happens next
    I love both characters
Marlon( Grip) is a player, he is not even thinking about settling down soon, until he meets his best friend sister.
Bristol is a strong minded woman that doesn't take any shit from anybody (love her)
They have an instant connection but they try to not to act on it, because of her brother/ his best friend until they can't stay away from each other
    Then stuff happens ?

Audio-book: Narrator - Maxine Mitchell and Jakobi Diem

I really enjoyed the male narrator as he did an excellent job of both male/female voices when required. And his voice for Grip was smooth as butter. Made me love the character even more. While I didn’t hate the female narrator’s portrayal of the characters, I did have a hard time adjusting to her inflections. She tended to have a little monotone at the end of each sentence that annoyed me just a bit. I’m hoping as I go into the next book it will not be as obvious to me and that my ear will acclimate to it quickly.

This sets up how Marlon/Grip and Bristol meet as well as what is driving them both in their lives. With an intense chemistry that Grip tries to deny out of respect for his best friend, he is unable to not be drawn to Bristol and the easy way in which they are together. Everything between them is effortless. For such a short beginning, this really covers a lot of emotional background for both of these characters. Unfortunately, the ending sets us up for the “rest of the story” and it appears it will be centered around a trope that I absolutely hate. Had I known that going in I may have not attempted this story, but I am so very curious how this couple that were just right for each can manage to come through these obstacles with a HEA. I suspect it’s going to be messy.
