About this audiobook
“In the world of black-op thrillers, Mitch Rapp continues to be among the best of the best” (Booklist, starred review), and he returns in the #1 New York Times bestselling series alone and targeted by a country that is supposed to be one of America’s closest allies.
After 9/11, the United States made one of the most secretive and dangerous deals in its history—the evidence against the powerful Saudis who coordinated the attack would be buried and in return, King Faisal would promise to keep the oil flowing and deal with the conspirators in his midst.
But when the king’s own nephew is discovered funding ISIS, the furious President gives Rapp his next mission: he must find out more about the high-level Saudis involved in the scheme and kill them. The catch? Rapp will get no support from the United States.
Forced to make a decision that will change his life forever, Rapp quits the CIA and assembles a group of independent contractors to help him complete the mission. They’ve barely begun unraveling the connections between the Saudi government and ISIS when the brilliant new head of the intelligence directorate discovers their efforts. With Rapp getting too close, he threatens to go public with the details of the post-9/11 agreement between the two countries. Facing an international incident that could end his political career, the President orders America’s intelligence agencies to join the Saudis’ effort to hunt the former CIA man down.
Rapp, supported only by a team of mercenaries with dubious allegiances, finds himself at the center of the most elaborate manhunt in history. With white-knuckled twists and turns leading to “an explosive climax” (Publishers Weekly), Enemy of the State is an unputdownable thrill ride that will keep you guessing until the final page.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love these books and characters. However, it is very annoying how many times the author states 'Rapps' name in the narrative when listening to the audio version. This book was the worst amount out of the series thus far.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5There are som many characters switching in and out from chapter to chapter that it take awhile to figure out who is who and understand the plot and storyline.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book was ok, but the guy reading this was awful.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I think it’s amazing how Mitch manages to have people come back from his past that hate him and want to see him fail and even dead. And in the end he makes them his friend. This book a reunion of sorts with some twists and turns and never fails to keep the action going.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent story! Mills is a worthy successor to Vince Flynn!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5What ever happened to George Guidall?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I'm glad Mitch's story continues to be told
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Mitch Rapp returns in this the sixteenth adventure, with Vince Flynn's passing the reigns have been taken over by Kyle Mills who does a respectable job of keeping a similar tone and pace to the books as Flynn did. This is the second installment that Mills has written and it's pleasing to see the first wasn't a mere fluke, the quality and consistency is on par with the first. In this installment we see a Saudi Arabian intelligence head team up with ISIS in a bid to secure power as Saudi Arabia's king is frail and expected to not be long for the world. The US President requests Rapp who's been putting his personal life back together to step out and covertly investigate news of a Saudi Prince giving funds to ISIS - and so the story unfolds.
