About this audiobook

Allie Sutton just got a new job. Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone) . . . the professional football team he owned for the last twenty years.

Luke Pierson does not want a new boss. What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.

For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it's a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.

Contains mature themes.

Author

Karla Sorensen

Karla Sorensen has been an avid reader her entire life, preferring stories with a happily-ever-after over just about any other kind. It doesn't take much to keep her happy...a book, a really big glass of wine, and at least thirty minutes of complete silence every day. She still keeps her toes in the world of health-care marketing, where she made her living pre-babies. Now she stays home, writing and mommy-ing full time. She currently resides with her husband and their two sons in Michigan.

I absolutely fell in love with these characters. The writing is beautiful and the depth of the characters fantastic. The romantic grand gesture at the end was just so enjoyable to read and have me all the emotions!

Editing could be better. Some chapter endings are cut off. Sometimes there's a chime followed by a different version of the sentence.
I loved the story and the narration was good.

I love love love a good football HEA but this 1 stumped me alittle. Great characters, adorable kid, so over the moon happy with football aspects but although the development between the characters was sweet, felt rushed, really wanted more time with them interacting. The build up is awesome but got cheated out of feeling the bond grow, learning what makes the other tick. Wish there was better resolution for Daddy issues

I absolutely enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It was really good reading it back in 2019 and now even better listening to it. I just love Luke and Allie’s character.

This is my first book of Sorenson and I loved it, it was light and easy, well written with both characters having depth to them, loved listening to both narrators which were excellent!

More of a2, tipping up to 2.5 for the references to Michigan State (Go Green! Go White!) There is nothing wrong with this, it is so generic it is almost a parody. In the last year or so I have found, to my surprise, that I rather like many sports themed romances, but here the characters were not well developed enough. Rather than build the characters the author simply substituted a poor little rich girl with complicated feelings about her recently deceased father and an NFL quarterback single and devoted father, both of whom are uncommonly attractive and hard-working, and let us fill in the rest of their stories from our assumptions about who they are based on that. It was not enough for me, but it was perfectly pleasant.
