About this audiobook
From an early age, Amber van de Bunt knew she wasn't like the other girls in town. From childhood struggles with depression and eating disorders, her years as a topless dancer in Florida, and an eventual abortion and suicide attempt, to her rebirth in Los Angeles as a porn star named Karmen Karma, overcoming her relationship with her abusive mother, and her struggle to maintain a clean and sober lifestyle-van de Bunt's life has been a wild rollercoaster. With humor, alacrity, and profound insight, she reveals her deepest, darkest secrets and pulls no punches-least of all with herself.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Okay so I really wanted to like this book . Started great until she recounted her abortion procedure which is unbelievable . There’s no way she remembered that much detail or did she see the doctor throw her baby in a trash can . The validity of her stories are out the window for me ..especially blaming her depression and life spiral on her abortion “insert eye roll “ ..she was spiralling prior to that . This is a pro lifers dream story . Not saying her emotions around her experience are not real but come on …be honest with your memories at least especially around a sensitive subject that so many women are judged for when they consider such a hard choice .

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The rawest realist most motivating book I've read! Thank you Amber for sharing your story and for not caring what people thought of the true struggles you went through in life! There's so many ppl that have been through the same thing that are so scared to speak on it scared to be judged. It made you into an amazing strong successful woman today! Love always your fan ~Ashley
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5What a wild life!
Fascinating, sad, empowering and insightful. Some low lows, and amazing highs - thanks for sharing your story Amber. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Glorifies drugs and sex trade. Kept hoping for redemption, but the bad choices and excuse making made me disgusted by this woman. I was hoping to learn about how to better understand addicts and success stories with recovery, but there was very little of that. No morality in this story. I'm trying to live in the light and this book seems to promote porn culture.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Everyone MUST read this (better yet listen) narration by the incredible Amber herself which is always best in autobiography. I have never been rooting for anyone more in life. Very tough reading in the majority of the book. Extremely desperate situations which are the reason Amber became one of the strongest people ever and is very deserving of her happiness to this day. I am thankful for all her encouragement in my life as well as countless others she has helped and continues to help by being so brave to tell her story without filter. This may seem too much for people to hear but it is the reason she is so successful now. Honestly all people should read this and all people will gain something very positive out of it. I know I will never forget her story and I will always be praying for her to keep going keep striving for higher goals. Well Done Amber and Thank You !!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amber’s painful honesty made this a compelling read. Difficult to read at times because of her setbacks in drug use and poor choices of partners I still felt driven to root for her to overcome her demons. In the end it is a warts and all look at the darker side of porn when drugs and a self destructive lifestyle are involved. Regardless, I kept rooting for her throughout. Finally, much respect for her husband Alex. I know what it’s like to unconditionally love someone even in those moments when it’s painful to do so.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thank you for reminding me that loving myself in all the right ways is not something to look down on. You are truly an amazing person, Amber.!!!
