      I love this series!!! I have downloaded and listened to this particular series on repeat. So much mystery and romance wrapped in one. I haunt the books stores and this site waiting gor a new Buchanan Brother book to come out.

      Hunting For A Highlander is the most recent installment in her “Highland Brides” series which is number eight in the series —highly impressive in how she has built this family and this whole series. I have had a blast with many of these books and I was delighted to read Geordie’s book. Just some background information, this series the ” Highland Brides” is a series that focuses on the Buchannan family, a set of brothers and their own journey in finding love, some mystery, danger, intrigue and plenty more. Now I would like to point out you really shouldn’t take these stories so seriously. I know some readers have struggled with some of the books, the key is to ENJOY these books because the way this author writes is to entertain and have fun and that is what I really get out of these stories.Our story starts off with our hero Geordie, who spots our lovely heroine (Dwyn Innes) who is hiding from her exasperating yet loving sisters and climbs a tree. Thinking she won’t be able to get down he climbs up after her and some fun bantering goes back and forth, some kissing and instant attraction between the two. Dwyn. After some interactions with each other, Geordie is sure that he wants Dwyn for his wife but when it becomes apparent that someone is trying to harm her, he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and his. But there is an enemy of theirs who seeks Dwyn family’s land and will do whatever it takes to get them. Geordie and Dwyn will have to rely on their own intellect and capabilities to overcome the danger and find the future together…What a fabulous story we have here, I simply loved so many things. Now I wouldn’t say its my favorite of the series because the first few books still hold the trophies on that, however, I had such a fun time with this book and these endearing characters. One of the strongest traits in Lynsay Sand’s writing is how she writes such compelling characters that you just find so drawn to and I found myself falling in love with Geordie and Dwyn and honestly didn’t want to see their story end. They capture the heart so easily and even though I wished there could have been more plot built up (not as strong as some of the previous books) it was still a solid read and quite an entertaining ride.Overall I found Hunting For A Highlander to be a sweet yet lively romance set in the highlands that captivates the reader with wit, crazy family machinations, a villain here and there and a romance which captures the heart!!

      The worst narrative I’ve ever listened too. I’m not very particular but this was just bad. I’ve listened to almost every book in this series and None of them have been like this.

      This was a very nice story. Serious yet witty and amusing sometimes. I enjoyed it. Felt the force of the Buchanans for the first time when one of their own was threatened. Nice family to follow.

      Dwyn Innes raised her two younger sisters after the death of their mother. The man she had never met, but was supposed to marry, died and she is quite content being an 'old maid' and enjoying reading. Four of the seven Buchanan brothers have found their life partners, but their sister and sister-in-law feel that it's time the remaining three brothers do so too. With that in mind, they invite a selection of unmarried women to visit Buchanan Keep, which includes Dywn, her sisters and father. Dywn's younger sisters are both already engaged, and feel they are helping her, but lowering the neckline of all Dwyn's dresses until with every breath she is in danger of her full bust making a public appearance, makes her embarrassed and self-conscious. Also, she becomes the victim of taunting from some of the other nasty would-be 'brides', so tries to find some peace and quiet by climbing a tree in the Buchanan orchard. Geordie Buchanan arrived home after months away to find the Keep full of guests so sleeps in the orchard overnight. In the morning he sees Dwyn climbing the tree and thinks she'll probably be stuck and unable to climb now. He climbs after her and the two become very interested in each other... However, Dwyn is in danger as she spurned the attentions of her father's neighbour who wanted to unite their properties and who has lost his mind, and also another who has set her sights on Geordie...

      Fun book. With four of the seven Buchanan brothers married off, their sister and sister-in-law feel that it's time Geordie, Rory, and Alick, also settle down. To aid in this endeavor, they invite a selection of unmarried women to visit, hoping to tempt the men into matrimony.Geordie was away for several months, helping various members of his family settle into their new homes. He returned late one night to discover his home stuffed with people, so he slept in the orchard. He awoke the next morning to the sounds of several women making horse noises and the sight of another woman climbing a tree.Dwyn is one of the women invited to Buchanan Keep, but she holds out no hope to attract one of the men. She is neither thin nor beautiful, a fact that several of the other women do not hesitate to remind her. Tired of their constant tormenting, Dwyn escapes to the orchard and climbs a tree, knowing her pursuers wouldn't think to look up.I loved the first meeting between Geordie and Dwyn. Geordie's protective instincts are aroused when he sees Dwyn climb the tree and thinks she won't be able to get down. Dwyn is startled to have a strange man suddenly appear in her tree and isn't quite sure how to deal with him at first. Her embarrassment is compounded by the fact that the dress her sisters altered cause her bosom to escape its confines. I loved how quickly Geordie and Dwyn became comfortable with each other. Geordie got an earful of why the keep was so crowded, giving him advance warning of what to expect when he finally goes inside. He is intrigued by Dwyn's straightforward attitude and very attracted to her lush figure. He also has no intention of marrying any time soon, feeling that he still has wild oats to sow. Dwyn is upfront in her opinion of her attributes and chances and her frustration with the position she is in. She is stunned when Geordie suddenly kisses her and can't help responding. She's equally stunned when he suddenly stops, drops from the tree, and disappears.Thus begins an unusual courtship. Though Geordie insists to his brothers that he is not ready to marry, he also inadvertently gives away that he has already met Dwyn and is attracted to her. It was fun to watch his uncle pay attention to Dwyn solely to stir up Geordie's jealousy and make him realize that he wants Dwyn for himself. When Dwyn is injured after being the subject of his attention, Geordie makes it his mission to care for her. I loved seeing them get to know each other. It's clear that Geordie is falling hard for Dwyn, though he resists admitting his feelings to himself. Dwyn is oblivious to Geordie's feelings, believing that he's just being nice. When Geordie finally realizes that he wants Dwyn as his wife, he wastes no time in going to her father. I had to laugh at the meeting with her father and his brother and his impatience to get the marriage accomplished.It quickly becomes apparent that someone doesn't want the marriage to take place. Geordie is determined to do whatever he must to keep Dwyn safe. But there is another enemy who is bent on revenge against Dwyn. He wants her family's land and didn't take kindly to her refusal of his advances. The story gets intense very quickly when Geordie is injured foiling one kidnapping attempt. When a second attempt is successful, Dwyn must rely on her own wits to stay alive until Geordie can come to her rescue. I was glued to the pages as Dwyn faced off against her enemy, and Geordie rallied his family. I loved the final confrontation and seeing the bad guy get what was coming to him. It was intense, but with a few lighter moments popping up.We are now down to two brothers left unmarried. Will it be Rory or Alick who falls next? I can't wait to find out.

      ** 4.25 Stars **I had such fun reading this book! It was witty and steamy and the characters were a delight. Yes, some serious things happened, but the humor made it all tolerable. Picture a castle full of randy males with Dolly Parton in their midst. This book is much, much steamier than the other books in the series – some of it was gratuitous, but that was okay with me. This is classic Lynsay Sands and I thoroughly enjoyed the read.The Buchanan family consists of eight – yes, eight – children – seven brothers and one sister. The sister, Saidh, and four of the brothers, Dougall, Niels, Aulay, and, Conran have already found their HEAs. Now, Saidh and her sisters-in-law have decided that it is time for the remaining three brothers, Geordie, Rory, and, Alick, to find wives as well. In furtherance of that goal, the ladies have invited a number of eligible young ladies to Buchanan Castle. However, they aren’t just any young ladies – there are certain criteria they – and their fathers – must meet before receiving an invitation. Luckily for the ladies' plan, Geordie, Rory, and Alick have been away for several months and are due home any day. Won’t they be surprised?Geordie returned home late in the night to find the castle filled to overflowing. He couldn’t even walk across the floor to get to his room without stumbling over bodies. Rather than run an obstacle course, he decides he’ll just sleep in the orchard. That was a good plan until he was awakened early the next morning – after only a few hours of sleep – by the strange sound of someone making noises to sound like a horse. Then, he sees a woman reach down and grab the back of her skirt, pull it through her legs and tuck it into her waistband. Next, she grabs onto a branch and disappears up into the tree – she doesn’t fall out, but she doesn’t come back down either. Geordie assumes he’ll just have to rescue her and proceeds to climb the tree after her. Only, she doesn’t need rescuing – she’s perfectly happy there and intends to stay. They chat and enjoy each other’s company for a while, but goodness, she is distracting. She has a very generous bosom and it is scarcely contained within her gown.Lady Dwyn Innes is one of the ladies invited to Buchanan Castle to vie for the hand of one of the remaining unmarried brothers. Dwyn has basically raised her two sisters and managed their holdings all by herself since she was about six years old. Yes, she has a father who is officially the Laird, but he is distracted and vague – much more interested in cataloging the plants on his estate than he is in raising his daughters and managing his clan. Since her father has no sons, as the oldest daughter she is his heir and will inherit Innes upon his death. Since the death of her betrothed, Dwyn has attracted the unwanted and unwelcome attentions of the neighboring Laird. For her, the invitation to Buchanan Castle is very welcome.Lady Dwyn has led a sheltered life at Innes. She’s never met anyone she didn’t like – or who didn’t like her – and she never really gave her looks any thought. However, her sisters, in an effort to help her, have adjusted all of her clothing so that her ample bosom is definitely on display. She knows she’s not as beautiful as her sisters, but that hasn’t ever bothered her before. Now, she feels more like a brown wren – not attractive and with no chance at attracting one of the Buchanan’s. When she meets a handsome man in a tree in the orchard, she enjoys his company and doesn’t realize – until he’s already gone – that she never learned his name.I know there are readers who will think this book has too much steam and that the word boob (or a derivative of it) is used too many times, but I thought that it was the lightness that made the very serious things that happened more bearable. Geordie was a randy fellow – but – Lady Dwyn was just as randy, so they were perfect for each other.I hope you’ll enjoy this well-written, witty, randy, and romantic read.
