About this audiobook

My friends used to tell me "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." Clearly, they lied because a few months later, I found out my one-night stand was pregnant.
I couldn't handle a baby. I was Griffin Rockwell, the best wide receiver the league had ever seen. But what choice did I have? My baby girl was coming whether I was ready for her or not.

Brooke turned out to be an amazing woman and mother. For seven years, we were the MVP's of co-parenting-and even better friends.

That all changed when tragedy struck our makeshift family and I was faced with the terrifying possibility of losing the one woman I was quickly realizing I couldn't live without.

I was at the height of my career and on the path to becoming the greatest of all time. But keeping my family together, with Brooke by my side, might prove to be the hardest route of all.

Loved the male narrator but as a southerner, those crap southern accents are like nails on a chalkboard. So narration is a 3 ⭐️ at best. For the length of the book it doesn’t drag, and time jump helps, writer smartly skips over any outside romantic relationships for both Brooke & Griffin, wish the gap wasn’t quite so long 4 yrs would have been plenty 7 seemed excessive for 2 people who have no reason not to seek a normal relationship to independently not be attached for 7 yrs. Success never seems to go Griffin’s head, that’s different. Characters are relatable, story doesn’t get stagnant, quite a few unexpected wrinkles. She’s older than he is and the world doesn’t end, Brooke doesn’t give up her personal goals, another plus. They don’t agree on all things parenting but they work together, we don’t get dragged through extended details of every little parent conflict. Little Bean is a happy and well loved kid, a lesson in how to parent from afar with being absentee. Interesting & satisfying book. Wish there was a little more actual football to the story, but ya can’t have everything
