About this audiobook

A fun, flirty teen debut from Wattpad phenom Alex Light about a fake relationship and real love.

It’s been years since seventeen-year-old Becca Hart believed in true love. But when her former best friend teases her for not having had a boyfriend, Becca impulsively pretends she’s been secretly seeing someone.

Brett Wells has it all. As captain of the football team and one of the most popular guys in his school, he should have no problem finding someone to date, but he’s always been more focused on his future than who to bring to prom.

When he overhears Becca’s lie, Brett decides to step in and be the mystery guy. It’s the perfect solution: he gets people off his back for not having a meaningful relationship and she can keep up the ruse that she’s got a boyfriend.

Acting like the perfect couple isn’t easy, though, especially when you barely know the other person. But with Becca still picking up the pieces from when her world was blown apart years ago and Brett just barely holding his together now, they begin to realize they have more in common than they ever could have imagined.

When the line between what is pretend and what is real begins to blur, they're forced to answer the question: Is this fake romance the realest thing in either of their lives?

it was fun and easy light fluffy read but I read these things before.

-rich hot guy fake dating, an annoying female character that used to be best friend sounds familiar?

this book wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either, just typical ya contemporary with those familiar tropes. same old things but I wasn’t hate it though.

If you want something sweet, cheesy and fluffy then this book is for you... the leads were cute and the romance was a fairytale style of "and they lived happily ever after ".
the writing style is easy going with no necessary fillers and to the point, it's a really good book to take you out of a reading slump ^^

I don't mind to suspend my disbelief many times during a story. It can be easily justified by a cool scene, for instance. But when characters don't act like themselves or act in a very very stupid way to create a moment that it is not that great, my eyes roll 180! It is not because they were teenagers and I didn't relate to them. I think Jenny acted like a teenager and I really enjoyed her. But the main characters just acted dumb, being portraited one way and acting the opposite. Some of their attitudes left me wondering "why". It seemed that it all was to serve an initial plot that the author had in mind, with dramatic moments, but didn't seem to care too much about how to get to those moments, as long as they happened. It got a 3 stars on my CAWPILE rating, but I might lower it to a 2 tbh.

like it so much.. the story was so ordinary at first, kinda boring and reminding me of To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han, but the story and character developed. They're cute together and how Becc love reading and often use it as reference for her real life is so relateable. Lastly, I am falling in love with the female narrator. She has good job expressing her emotion. Want to hear more stories from her

Cute YA, with issues that teens face due to the adults in their lives.

This book was so cute! A lot of it is predictable but that does their away the fact that it’s not cute and angsty. I am going to get the physical copy too! Really enjoyed this fast and quick and not so complicated love story

Becca Hart doesn't believe in love, but pretends to have a boyfriend to keep her friends from teasing her. Brett Wells, BMOC, overhears and steps in as the pretend boyfriend (I never really understood why). There's a lot of teenage drama but ends as you'd expect. It's a cute story and an easy read, but not particularly different from a lot of YA books out there.

The Upside of Falling is a teen fake dating romance. I thought it was cute and the characters were believable for the age they were written to be. I loved that Becca was a bookworm and Brett was the football quarterback. I realize that some find that pairing to be unrealistic, but I also think that many teen girls do dream of dating the a popular, good looking athlete and this book is just giving the reader that fantasy.

A pretty good read, both Becca and Brett were really likable as main characters. I think the thing I liked most about this book was the story line between Becca and Jenny. I really love that Jenny didn't end up being the stuck up popular girl who does something horrible. She was very sincere and real. I would actually love to read a book about her. I did love the conflict with Brett's parents as well and how that was concluded. I do feel how he reacted to Becca about it though was a little off. It just didn't really fit to me. Like the author did it just because she felt it needed to be done for more conflict. I kind of hate when that happens. Overall I did really enjoy it and will read more by this author.

‘The Upside of Falling” was a cute read but certainly nothing groundbreaking. I loved that Becca was such a reader and Brett was a genuinely nice guy. However, their romance felt rushed and the writing was simplistic. Although not memorable it was still a fun story to while away a few hours.
