About this audiobook

Gracie Porter’s life is in a tangle. Her television cookery show is flailing and her boyfriend’s affections are waning. It's time for a change…

Best friend Faith rescues her place on the small screen when she unwittingly lands them both starring roles in a steamy spin-off that becomes an instant hit.
The new show is more about relationships, sex and stonking big vegetables than cooking.
Throw in a fluctuating crush on her surprisingly irresistible agent, Harry Hipgrave, an unlikely friendship with a pair of D-list models and a gossip journalist intent on making her life miserable, Grace wonders if becoming famous is all it’s cracked up to be?
Romantic, utterly uplifting and poignant, perfect for the fans of Sophie Kinsella and Lucy Diamond.

The main character Gracie is a hapless, self-absorbed child. There are terrible racist stereotypes and the voice actor's accents are terrible.

If I could give it zero stars, I would.
I’m typically completely okay with fluffy fiction that’s like a sitcom for the brain. However, this book was TOO fluffy!

*possible spoilers ahead, should you make it long enough into the book to even get to them*

First off, I can’t suspend disbelief enough to believe that a television corporation is going to take the host of a cooking show with marginal ratings and triple their salary when the show is revamped BEFORE production has even started.

Then, as Gracie begins to “grow” into her newfound, instant stardom because everyone LOVES the new, racy (and stupid!) format of the show, of COURSE all of her choices are going to be stupid ones! “Hey, let’s have her try coke in the bathroom with two girls she met an hour ago! And how about she catch her boyfriend eating cat food but not question his mental health? Oh, I know, I know!! Let’s have another character introduce her to the idea of ‘shagging buddies’ so she can have random sex with the janitor at a salsa club!!” It’s just stupid.

And do NOT get me started on the narrator’s ABYSMAL American accents! Holy cow, it was like battery acid on my ear drums!

I couldn’t even finish the book. It’s awful.
