About this audiobook
Former Navy SEAL Clarence Wolfe's unit was taken out with a land mine. Injured and devastated, he hasn't been quite right since. Worse, the tragedy was no accident. All Wolfe wants now is to take down the man responsible. In the meantime, he's good with being the muscle for the Deep Ops team-and leading a steamy no-strings-attached personal life. Until one intriguing woman changes everything . . .
Determined:
Reporter Dana Mulberry is on a mission to avenge the death of a fellow journalist. She's finally hot on a trail-right to a sex club-where she runs into . . . Wolfe? It seems both their leads have led to the same spot. To keep from blowing their covers, they'll have to at least pretend to have a little fun. Trouble is, they genuinely like each other. And that's way too risky for Wolfe, especially when, to his surprise, Dana agrees . . .
Complicated:
Drawn to each other in ways they can't understand, Wolfe and Dana keep it professional-until they're shot at one night. And when their adventures land them both at the heart of corruption in DC-and at odds in their missions-they'll have to dig deeper than ever to succeed in their quests-and with each other . . .

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wolfe has been my favorite since the first book of the series... well, beside Roscoe. Roscoe is on a level all his own. That dog has brought more comedy to this series than any other animal in a book. I adore the animal.
This whole rag-tag team is made up of some quirky characters. They have messed up in the eyes of their superiors one way or another. Wolfe is that big scary dude who also has a woman wanting to cuddle him like a bear. What can I say, I love the weird. That's a big reason he's been my favorite from the start, even though I've enjoyed all the characters.
I usually struggle with journalist just because they always seem to get themselves in stupid situations and take no heed to their own safety. I didn't have the struggle with Dana, and that probably has more to do with Wolfe always covering her back. They made such a good team together, and I adore how protective he is of her.
I'm happy to say that Wolfe stood up to my high expectations for his book. My heart just melted with a few scenes that made me love him more. So good!
Again, Clarence Wolfe has been biding his time looking for the man who killed his team while working for Homeland Defense Department, a motley crew of good men and women who’d have his back if he’d let them. But he’s reluctant to let anyone close to him for fear his nemesis might hurt his loved ones to get at him, especially the alluring woman who keeps needing his backup when getting into sticky situations.
Freelance reporter Dana Mulberry needs to find out what happened to her journalist friend. Her findings lead her to a sexy club where she runs into none other than the tall, dark, and sexy Wolfe who’s put her squarely in the friend zone.
As Wolfe steps in to protect her, they find out their cases overlap. Working together while keeping Dana safe tests Wolfe’s control over his feelings towards her, and soon they’re both tangled up in more ways than one.
Dana is energetic and keen to put her safety on the line for a good story, but she’s more eager to put her heart out for the broken yet incredibly alpha swoony Wolfe. Where Wolfe is fierce and a bit withdrawn, she’s strong and determined. But they make a great team finding common ground in their sense of civic duty and resolve.
Zanetti writes an electrifying plot with skill, including characters from past books, giving Wolfe and Dana the support characters needed to develop the danger and intrigue that surrounds them. And while Wolf and Dana’s chemistry is palpable, it takes a while for Wolfe to relent.
I had met Wolfe since the start of the series. He came off as a bit off, and yes, he was broken. I loved how Zanetti showed this was mostly about Wolfe’s desire to protect everyone around him first. She writes movingly of how much life had taken from him but even more deeply of the reward of letting others help starting with Dana. Their romance was intensely hot and passionate.
But not everything was intense danger and romance. Zanetti expertly interweaves some much welcome humor by adding the issue-riddled Roscoe, an alcoholic dog with a shoe and makeup fetish who gives each book and extra star!
