About this audiobook
A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!
A growing number of Americans want to tear down what it’s taken us 250 years to build—and they’ll start by canceling our shared history, ideals, and culture.
Traditional areas of civic agreement are vanishing. We can’t agree on what makes America special. We can’t even agree that America is special. We’re coming to the point that we can’t even agree what the word America itself means. “Disintegrationists” say we’re stronger together, but their assault on America’s history, philosophy, and culture will only tear us apart.
Who are the disintegrationists? From Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States to the New York Times’ 1619 project, many modern analyses view American history through the lens of competing oppressions, a racist and corrupt experiment from the very beginning. They see American philosophy as a lie – beautiful words pasted over a thoroughly rotted system. They see America’s culture of rights as a façade that merely reinforces traditional hierarchies of power, instead of being the only culture that guarantees freedom for individuals.
Disintegrationist attacks on the values that built our nation are insidious because they replace each foundational belief, from the rights to free speech and self-defense to the importance of marriage and faith communities, with nothing more than an increased reliance on the government.
This twisted disintegrationist vision replaces the traditional “unionist” understanding that all Americans are united in a shared striving toward the perfection of universal ideals.
How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps shows that to be a cohesive nation we have to uphold foundational truths about ourselves, our history, and reality itself—to be unionists instead of disintegrationists. Shapiro offers a vital warning that if we don’t recover these shared truths, our future—our union—as a great country is threatened with destruction.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book, but scary. Those Americans that see a future in this country, need to do something...anything. Help a family that home schooling, a home baked good for a police officer, a meal to an elderly neighbor. Maybe these small acts will breed great love.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Mr. Shapiro is an amazing author! Regardless of if you support him or not based on his beliefs, take some time out of your life and educate yourself on how the other side sees. Shapiro has always educated from a stance outside of emotions or feelings, which I highly respect of him! One of my better reads of 2020 for sure!

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Racist, white washed vision. Sounds like a trump playbook on how our educational system should function. Ignoring the problems in our country doesn't make them disappear.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book should be required reading for all Americans. While standing alone, it may not be the whole of knowledge necessary to understand how we have come to this place in our history, standing beside books like Cynical Theories by Helen Pluckrose, it is a necessary component to understanding our shared history and the forces that seek to dismantle our nation in favor of the same tired ideas that have never worked. Praying our wild nature of individualism and unique American qualities will stand the test of time.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Go find Ezra Klein's "Why We're Polarized" instead. Much more informative. Also I could do without Shapiro's impersonations.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5It's hard to tell if Shapiro is a cynical grifter spoon feeding bad ideas to the kind of people who buy books in an Airport, or if he is really as intellectually dull as it appears. Either way, the effect this mind numbing conservative pablum that was tired 20 years ago.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Shapiro lays out the arguments for how America is being destroyed in an easy to read format. The critiques that I’ve seen about this book are ill informed and I’m guessing those who’ve posted them haven’t read it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book. Ben does a great job narrating his own book. Strongly recommended.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5To suggest that Ben Shapiro is an intellectual fraud remains a vast understatement given that he utilizes circular logic and blanketed assumptions to build an argument. Beyond which, even if he ever had a cogent thought somehow bouncing around that hollow, clownlike head, it would be immediately dismissed leading Ben to pay penance for which through 7 hours of his podcast tapdancing around his own hypocrisies.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5That is a outstanding audiobook i have learn a lot of things from this book where writer wrote very well about this very easily anyone can understand this audiobook i really appreciate this book the sound quality was very good anyone can hear it very clearly & i am recommended this audiobook to everyone.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Corroding get through it. Terrible. Do not recommend. Not at all.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great, great book! Ben reads his own book. Anyone who has listened to or watched Ben Shapiro knows he is vastly informative, but speaks at a mile a minute. He actually reined it back a little in this work, but it's still hard to follow at times. I'm an ardent Shapiro fan, so this is my only criticism--and it's a mild one. I'll read/listen to this one again.
