Understanding the difference between narcissism and gaslighting was enlightening. I could not find much of recovery techniques as the book title gave me an impression that I will find my way to recovery.

Succint and to the point. I appreciated that this book had zero stories - it made the listening process straightforward. I also appreciated the amount of research that was done for this book. Over all this book was well-written and easy to read. Thank you!

This book provided helpful reminders of how gaslighters operate. It opens your eyes to realize that if you have recovered from this once, you can do it again. Recognizing the problem is the beginning to developing an exit plan back to mental wellness.

Some of the examples were overly repetitive. Didn’t like it.

I truly appreciated that the author of this book clearly stated narcissism was about the narcissist in no uncertain terms. Most of the books I’ve read seem to be written from the the perceptive of empathy for the narcissist which is a problem when you, the victim are already susceptible to feeling bad for your perpetrator over yourself. I thought the book was very well written, strong in advice and reading was pleasurable.

Funny enough the author gaslights the democraticly elected President, repeatedly. The chapter on famous narcissists was speculative and completely unwarranted. The books gives you a general overview of the behavior and what to do about it.

I am finding this very helpful and enlightening as I prepare to end a ten year abusive relationship. Probably going to listen to it a few more times, to keep me from wavering.

What an eye opener, and empowering book! Given that insight into "the problem" is the first step to improvement, and Chloe's compassion or at least understanding stretches from victim to villain: her explanations help me, may help many of you, all of us in our individual way, to overcome victimisation.

Nothing huge. It did help a little bit with seeing how my mom thinks. However having my mom saying I’m ungrateful and disrespectful. She suggests I say “I am graceful and I’ll complain less” isn’t that wining with me saying I’m wrong? Also I could go without the political comments. Saying Trump gaslighted all of us and how scary is that. I guess Republicans are the only ones who gaslight. Maybe Liberals are the only ones who get gaslighted?
