About this audiobook
When Addie La Rue makes a pact with the devil, she trades her soul for immortality. But there's always a price - the devil takes away her place in the world, cursing her to be forgotten by everyone. Addie flees her tiny home town in 18th-Century France, beginning a journey that takes her across the world, learning to live a life where no one remembers her and everything she owns is lost and broken. Existing only as a muse, she learns to fall in love anew every single day. Until one day, in a second hand bookshop in Manhattan, Addie meets someone who remembers her. Suddenly thrust back into a real, normal life, Addie realises she can't escape her fate forever.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The end... It's the end that I'm giving 4 stars... However the story was a little slow and I really couldn't care for Henry enough... Maybe it's just me...

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This dragged on for me with the author saying a whole lot of nothing with way too many words. She seems to indulge in description which I can admit is pretty however lacked the invocation of emotion for me. It's like describing artwork without seeing it. I felt disconnected the entire time and I could tell the author was obsessed with Addie. Sadly this meant all we got was Addie and not much else. And Addie was an extremely lackluster character, especially for one with such an interesting concept surrounding her

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was amazing. I was confused at first but things got interesting halfway through the book and I couldn't stop listening and reading. I sacrificed study time just to finish it and it was worth it. LOVED the ending.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Okay, so I often give 5 stars for books review to encourage authors, but by heck this deserves more. Expertly and exquisitely written. Complex, deep and meaningful. There are brilliant quotes here for you to dwell upon. The best book I have read for a few years and I read a lot.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Honestly, this was 17 hours of.... boring! Addie didn’t do anything remotely interesting in this whole book and her love interest was also incredibly meh as well. Everything that happened could have happened in 2 hours - incredibly overhyped and not worth it

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Uninteresting characters, predictable plot, cheesy writing — tiktok books almost never live up to the hype

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fantastic narrator. And I love how nuance and complex the dynamics between the characters are.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The narration is great, I have no complaints at all. But the book... I wanted to love it so much. So, so much. And I did until the love interest came into the picture. Then it got dull, long, repetitive. I would love to read more about Addie's life. I liked her. But this was a disappointment.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I’ll admit the beginning did not grip me what so ever until Addie finally makes her deal then things pick up for some chapters but then it hits another not so interesting part for quite a few chapters. But when Addie finally meets Henry boy does the story pick up and keeps a good pace. I want everyone to know the story of Addie Larue .
P.s I Would Die For Luc!1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great narration and pace, absolutely loved it! Would (and probably will) read again. If you're in the fence about the book, give it a try. You won't regret it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5BEST BOOK IVE EVER READ!!! SLOW START BUT ITS SO WORTH IT. READ IT NOW IT IS A MASTERPIECE
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I am sooooooo tempted to give it 1 star for all the emotional roller coaster it made me go through for it to slap me with that ending.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I’m about a 1/4 through the book and it is sooo boring. The book initially sounded interesting (deal with the devil / 300 years of history) but so far nothing has been set up or executed in a way that hooks me in.
Have only seen good things about this book so will persevere but at the moment I am struggling to stay engaged.

Couldn’t finish it - this just isn’t for me. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A refreshing, different scenario that plays out. I love the authenticity of the story, never read something similar to the scenario. Love the spin it has on the old gods.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/517 hours of pure bliss! Absolutely devoured every minute of it. Brilliant narrating! Just wow!!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5When I started I couldn't put it down. I liked the plot and the overall story, but I found Henry's character dull and boring and his story to me, was slow and drawn out.
I liked Addie's character. The fact that she still thought herself cunning after suffering Stockholm syndrome twice is cute.
Luc was my favorite character!
I'm excited about the movie! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Beautiful. Amazing story. Incredible writing. I enjoyed this book a lot.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Incredible!!!! This book is amazing. I loved every bit of it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Would recommend! Very odd but compelling story a true tale of be careful what you wish for
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/54.5✨
It’s not perfect but it’s such a brilliantly conceived story and beautifully rendered too. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved the audio experience of this book! A beautifully descriptive plot that travels through time and continents. very evocative imagery
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I often choose audiobooks out of my typical reading genres and this one really wasn’t for me. I didn’t get to the end so I feel 3 stars is fair and I may come back to this later because I do like the main character but my interest is lost for now, halfway through and I feel like it isn’t going anywhere. I get some of the repetition is the point of the story but some of the details we are told multiple times is unnecessary. The narration is done really nicely.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Beautiful book with beautiful writing, beautiful character progression, beautiful ending, but requires patience, endurance and appreciation.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Superb! Beautifully written and beautifully read.
I could not put it down! One of the most memorable books I’ve listened to/read. So absolutely fascinating- I’ll wax lyrical about it for ages. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is such an INCREDIBLE story!! So beautiful it hurts
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow i don't know what to say really. Let me tidy up my mind ?
